• Define and enforce standards for financial structures (ledger design, chart of accounts, calendars, legal entity structures), controls, and data governance across ERP and EPM limiting customizations.
• Develop and maintain business cases for roadmap initiatives; define measurable value targets and track benefits realization (e.g., close acceleration, control effectiveness, reporting improvements, and cost optimization) in partnership with Finance.
• Partner with JDE/Fusion Architect on Internal Audit, Risk, and Security topics to ensure an auditable solution (e.g., SoD intent, access governance, and controls embedded in process design).
JDE to Oracle Fusion Transformation Leadership
• Provide executive IT leadership for the transition from JD Edwards to Oracle Fusion, including scope, sequencing, cutover approach, and stabilization planning for Finance capabilities.
• Ensure future state Record to Report and adjacent processes (e.g., Procure to Pay, Order to Cash, cost and inventory accounting impacts) are designed with strong accounting integrity and operational feasibility.
• Partner with Finance leadership on change management: assess change impacts, drive communications and stakeholder readiness, support role/process redesign, and establish training completion and adoption metrics to ensure successful transition to new ways of working.
• Oversee key program deliverables impacting Finance, including data conversion strategy, reconciliation approach, integrations, reporting, and close readiness.
• Own IS Finance functional team risk management: identify cross workstream dependencies, escalate critical decisions, and drive timely resolution to protect timeline and quality.
Solution Architecture & Cross Functional Alignment
• Accountable for the end to end Finance solution spanning Oracle Fusion Financials and Oracle EPM, ensuring consistent master data, reconciled integrations, and traceable reporting outcomes.
• Maintain a deep understanding of end to end accounting and finance processes (Record to Report, Procure to Pay, Order to Cash) to ensure Oracle Fusion and EPM designs reflect real world operational execution, controls, and close requirements.
• This role is best suited for a hands on finance systems leader who can operate at both executive and design detail levels, and who is willing to step in as needed to gather requirements, work through functional detail, and drive execution.
• Partner with Oracle Fusion Infrastructure/Integration/Security leaders to ensure Finance designs are supportable and secure (environments, RBAC, SoD implementation, OIC/integration patterns, and release readiness).
• Coordinate with other Oracle Fusion function owners (e.g., Supply Chain/Manufacturing) to ensure cost and inventory flows, subledger impacts, and operational transactions integrate cleanly to the financial close.
• Ensure Finance reporting and analytics requirements are met with an intentional architecture (financial statements, management reporting, close metrics, planning/forecasting reporting).
Delivery, Vendor & Stakeholder Leadership
• Lead and coach the Finance functional team, including setting objectives and accountability for the Functional Owner and Business analyst; ensure clear role boundaries and effective collaboration with technical teams.
• Own team capacity planning and staffing strategy (hiring, contractor mix, and role design) to ensure the right skills and coverage across ERP and EPM delivery and operations.
• Establish a performance and development cadence (goal setting, feedback, performance management, and professional development) to grow functional and product leadership capability within the team.
• Ensure the IS delivery process is consistently followed across the IS Finance functional team and vendor partners, including stage gates, required artifacts, testing rigor, and change/release controls.
