At Blentech, we are "Blending Simplicity with Technology." We build advanced, custom-engineered food processing machinery and software for major food brands worldwide. The Blentech Innovation Center (BIC) is our state-of-the-art facility where food companies test recipes, scale up production, and trial our commercial equipment.

Position Summary

We are seeking a energetic, hands‑on BIC Facility Operations Specialist to serve as the backbone of our Innovation Center. In this dynamic role, you will keep our world‑class testing facility pristine, assist mechanical engineers and clients during live cooking trials, and ensure our equipment operates safely and efficiently.

If you have a strong mechanical aptitude, love working with food production equipment, and take pride in maintaining an immaculate, safe facility, this role offers direct paths for growth into technical equipment testing or field service.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Facility & Equipment Care (50%): Maintain top-tier cleanliness and organization across the Innovation Center. Clean and sanitize industrial food machinery before and after customer trials. Manage facility waste, floor care, boiler/chiller zones, and lab coat laundering.
  • Live Trial Support (30%): Assist with setting up, configuring, and operating food machinery during client test runs. Help collect test data, source ingredients, and move equipment/materials throughout the floor.
  • Shop & Department Support (10%): Perform basic mechanical maintenance, collaborate with manufacturing, and support special engineering projects.
  • Continuous Improvement (10%): Participate in 5S/Kaizen improvement events and assist with trade shows or marketing prep.
Requirements
  • Hands‑On Mechanical Aptitude: Prior experience with mechanical systems, machinery maintenance, tool handling, or commercial kitchen/factory equipment.
  • Obsession with Cleanliness & Safety: Deep understanding of sanitation, safety protocols, and food safety standards.
  • Customer-Centric Mindset: Comfortable interacting with visiting client teams and communicating professionally.
  • Physical Capability: Ability to lift up to 40 lbs., stand/walk for extended periods, and work in active food processing environments (damp, warm, or brief freezer room visits down to -15°F).
  • Location: Must live within commuting distance of Santa Rosa, CA.
