What this job involves:

This Sr Director of Operations position focuses on delivering exceptional client service while overseeing comprehensive facility operations at a large-scale airport facility. In consultation and collaboration with senior leadership, you'll oversee the operation, staffing, performance and development of the on-site facility management team. As a Leader within the region, this position leads and drives the annual strategy, planning, budgeting and reporting. You'll serve as the primary client interface, ensuring seamless service delivery through strategic relationship management, vendor coordination, and operational excellence. The role encompasses managing environmental and safety programs, developing budgets, and leading both internal teams and external suppliers to achieve key performance indicators and service level agreements.

What your day to day will look like:

Your primary focus (40-60% of time) will be relationship management and operations, where you'll maintain client satisfaction through responsive leadership and creative problem-solving. You'll conduct quality assurance audits, foster a safety-first culture, and coordinate with vendors and suppliers on performance goals and contract negotiations. Additionally, you'll spend time (20-40%) on people management, providing clear expectations and performance feedback while mentoring team members. You'll also lead strategic planning initiatives and collaborate with senior leadership on regional operations. Smaller portions of your day will involve executive reporting duties, budget variance analysis, and capital/expense budget oversight.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Facilities Management with management/technical emphasis

Minimum 7 years of facility management experience including knowledge of building systems, mechanical/electrical systems, architectural maintenance, and instrumentation/automation

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Strong organizational and management skills with ability to multitask and work both independently and in teams

Excellent interpersonal, supervisory, and customer service skills in a dynamic work environment

Outstanding business writing and verbal communication abilities with strong analytical skills

Detail-oriented approach with proven success working with subcontractors/vendors on mutual safety objectives

Preferred Qualifications

MBA degree. 7+ years of relevant facility management experience.

Atlanta - Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (On-site) - Candidate must be a resident of Atlanta, GA at the time of position start date.

Salary

$145,000 - $211,000 plus 25% bonus
