About the role:
Sloan has an opening for an IT Operational Technology (OT) Lead in our Franklin Park, IL location reporting to our VP of Global IT. In this role you are responsible for managing and supporting all technology used on the manufacturing floor, ensuring connectivity, reliability, and security of operational systems. This role bridges the gap between IT and manufacturing, providing technical leadership, coordinating incident response, and driving proactive improvements to minimize downtime and enhance production efficiency. The OT Lead will also partner closely with site leadership, engineering, and IT infrastructure teams to ensure that manufacturing technology aligns with enterprise standards and operational goals.
What you'll do:
  • Lead daily operational support for all manufacturing technology, including OT
    systems, connected devices, and plant floor applications.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve network and system issues impacting production
    systems and connected equipment.
  • Collaborate with IT Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, and Engineering teams to maintain
    secure and reliable connectivity across OT environments.
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures, incident response playbooks,
    and escalation paths for OT-related issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance uptime, standardization, and
    visibility of OT systems.
  • Support onboarding and training of OT support technicians and coordinate shift
    coverage between 1st and 2nd shifts.
  • Partner with site and corporate teams to assess technology health, patch
    compliance, and hardware lifecycle management.
  • Participate in future expansion planning to extend OT support across multiple
    domestic and international manufacturing sites.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required.

What you'll need:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ Years Strong understanding of industrial networking, control systems (PLC, HMI,
    SCADA), and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
  • 2+ Years Proven ability to diagnose complex connectivity and integration issues
    across mixed IT/OT environments.
  • 2+ Years Excellent communication and coordination skills, capable of interfacing
    effectively with production, engineering, and IT teams.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT operations, industrial automation, or OT
    systems support within a manufacturing environment.

A plus, but not required:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 1+ Years Experience leading or mentoring a small technical support team preferred.
  • 1+ Years Familiarity with cybersecurity practices for OT environments (e.g., NIST,
    ISA/IEC 62443) is a plus.
  • CompTIA A+
  • Cisco Network Associate (CCNA)
  • A+ certification or similar experience
  • Communication skills with the ability to manage across technical and business
    stakeholders
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry preferred, especially with operational
    technology or production environments
  • Network+ certification or similar experience
    Understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) practices, preferably aligned to ITIL
    frameworks
