Job description
You will architect comprehensive risk programs and establish the governance frameworks, analytics infrastructure, and resource models that enable scalable execution. The ideal candidate is a builder who thrives in ambiguity, defines both the "what" and the "how," and drives cross-functional alignment at enterprise scale.
Key job responsibilities
Program Architecture & Execution
• Design and implement scalable supplier risk programs spanning financial, operational, reputational, safety, regulatory, tier-n, geopolitical, sustainability, and single/sole source risk domains
• Develop risk scoring methodologies, segmentation frameworks, and tiered monitoring approaches aligned to supplier criticality and spend exposure
• Build early warning systems to proactively identify emerging supplier risks before business impact occurs
• Consolidate siloed risk management activities into a unified, governed program portfolio with defined escalation pathways, response protocols, and supplier remediation frameworks
• Define program success metrics, reporting cadences, and escalation protocols
• Identify and secure resource support structures - team capacity, partner ownership, technology tools, or vendor support - that enable programs to operate at scale
Policy Development & Governance
• Author and maintain supplier risk management policies, standards, and procedures enabling consistent execution across all regions
• Establish governance mechanisms to ensure policy compliance and drive continuous improvement
• Partner with Legal, Compliance, GPO partners, and Finance to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and corporate standards
• Own policy lifecycle management including periodic reviews, updates, and stakeholder communication
Stakeholder Engagement & Influence
• Collaborate with Category Managers, Supplier Performance Managers, and regional teams to embed risk considerations into sourcing decisions, business consequence decisions, and supplier lifecycle management
• Present risk posture, program performance, and policy recommendations to senior leadership
• Influence cross-functional partners without direct authority to adopt risk management practices and tools
• Champion a risk-aware culture across GSM and the broader GPO
Analytics & Continuous Improvement
• Lead design of data models and risk scoring methodologies integrating financial health assessments, background/suitability screening, ESG indicators, geopolitical signals, safety records, quality metrics, capacity, delivery, and other performance metrics
• Leverage data and analytics to identify risk trends, concentration risks, and portfolio vulnerabilities
• Drive automation and tooling improvements to increase program scalability and reduce manual effort
• Benchmark internal practices against industry standards and implement leading-edge approaches
A day in the life
• Global scope supporting all regions
• High degree of autonomy with expectation to define both strategy and execution
• Cross-functional collaboration with Category Management, Legal, Compliance, Finance, Security, Sustainability, and Operations teams
• Hybrid work environment; travel up to 50%
