Clinical Quality & Resident CareÂ
- Provides overall leadership and oversight of the nursing department to ensure high-quality resident care Â
- Accountable for clinical outcomes, including prevention and management of falls, pressure injuries, infections, and hospital readmissions Â
- Ensures physicians and clinical providers conduct visits as required and that care is delivered in accordance with resident needs Â
- Conducts regular rounds to monitor resident care, staff performance, and overall environment of care Â

Regulatory Compliance & Survey ReadinessÂ
- Maintains continuous survey readiness and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations Â
- Leads survey preparation, participates in surveys, and oversees implementation of plans of correction Â
- Oversees incident reporting, investigations, and follow-up actions in accordance with regulatory requirements Â
- Ensures compliance with all organizational policies, procedures, and the compliance program Â
Quality Improvement & Infection ControlÂ
- Leads QAPI and performance improvement initiatives for the nursing department utilizing data, metrics, and trends to drive decision-making and improve outcomes Â
- Oversees infection prevention and control programs to ensure compliance and minimize risk. May be the center Infection Preventionist.Â
Workforce Leadership & DevelopmentÂ
- Develops, leads, and retains a high-performing nursing team through effective hiring, coaching, and performance management Â
- Oversees staffing and scheduling to ensure appropriate coverage while managing labor costs, overtime, and agency utilization Â
- Ensures orientation, onboarding, ongoing training, and competency development of nursing personnel Â
- Ensures maintenance of licensure and certification requirements for all nursing personnel, including CPR certification for all licensed nursing personnelÂ
- Ensures fair and consistent application of disciplinary processes and performance evaluations Â
Operations & Financial ManagementÂ
- Ensures necessary equipment, supplies, and staffing levels are available to support quality care delivery Â
- Participates in budget development for the nursing department, medical, nursing and central supplies.Â
- Manages nursing department operations within budget, including labor and supply expenses Â
Leadership, Collaboration & CultureÂ
- Partners with the Executive Director and interdisciplinary team to drive clinical, operational, and financial performance Â
- Acts in an administrative capacity in the absence of the Executive DirectorÂ
- Collaborates with internal and external partners to improve quality of care and operational outcomes Â
- Promotes a culture of accountability, professionalism, safety, and resident-centered care Â
