Role Overview:
We are seeking an energetic and highly skilled individual for a Principal level position to join the Onshape Strategic Technical Services team. The ideal candidate is articulate and experienced in both pre and post sales situations, working closely with prospects/customers throughout the relationship. From delivering engaging product demonstrations to understanding engineering systems and process aiding in customer onboarding and adoption. You will collaborate with a fast-paced, in-office team at the PTC HQ in Boston's Seaport District, supporting our sales efforts by showcasing our product to potential new customers and working with the customer success team to help build/maintain/expand customer relationships. This role demands a strong understanding of engineering applications (CAD, PDM, PLM, CAM, FEA, etc.) and the ability to effectively communicate our product's unique features. You will play a crucial role in introducing a next-generation product design platform to a broader audience. Experience in the CAD/PDM space, with a reseller or direct with a vendor, is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Master our product and become an expert user.
  • Collaborate closely with the sales team to deliver exceptional product demonstrations.
  • Act as a product expert, addressing questions from customers and prospects working in conjunction with the customer success team.
  • Help build and cultivate customer relationships
  • Develop technical product-related marketing content.
  • Expand our ever-growing library of demonstration content.
  • Liaise with the development team to relay feature requests from customers and prospects.
  • Continuously enhance your skills and knowledge.

Required Skills:
  • Experience with mechanical CAD software (Onshape, SOLIDWORKS, Autodesk Inventor, Creo, Siemens NX, etc.)
  • Experience in delivering product demonstrations.
  • Experience in troubleshooting complex customer requirements and engineering processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering, or a technical equivalent.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience and familiarity with PDM or PLM products (SOLIDWORKS PDM, Windchill, Autodesk Vault, Siemens Teamcenter)
  • Experience with engineering software such as CAM, FEA/CFD, ECAD.

PTC carefully considers a wide variety of factors when determining compensation. The anticipated annual salary range for this position is between $130,000 - $155,000. The salary range reflects a good-faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on a candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Additionally, candidates may be eligible for a performance-based bonus. Employees also have the opportunity to become a PTC shareholder through our employee share purchase program (ESPP), which allows for the purchase of discounted PTC stock. Certain roles may also be eligible for participation in our equity programs. Employees may be eligible for medical, dental and vision insurance, paid time off and sick leave, tuition reimbursement, 401(k) contributions and employer match, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, disability coverage and, if you are an office-assigned employee, a generous commuter subsidy.
