Job description

Open position in RADaR office locations, including Kansas City, MO, Columbia, MO, St. Louis, MO, Minneapolis, MN, Dallas, TX, Portsmouth, NH, Torono, ON; Hybrid work schedule: 3 days in the office, 2 days working from home
Visa sponsorship is not available for this position, now or in the future. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without requiring employer sponsorship.
MTP is made up of ten agencies, each with its own systems, workflows, and ways of working. The Director of Innovation & Technology will help connect those agencies through thoughtful use of technology, AI, and innovation.
This role partners closely with the President of RADaR to establish MTP's point of view on emerging technology and AI, identify opportunities to improve how our teams work, and help turn those opportunities into practical solutions. This includes developing education and enablement around AI, facilitating the AI Council, and working directly with agencies to understand business challenges and determine where technology can make a meaningful difference.
This is not an IT infrastructure or product development role. We are looking for someone who is curious, creative, tool-agnostic, and genuinely interested in solving problems. The right person will be comfortable exploring new technology, asking the right questions, and helping teams find practical solutions that improve the way they work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)
  • Partner with the President of RADaR to develop and advance MTP's approach to AI, emerging technology, and innovation
  • Evaluate emerging technology and AI tools for genuine fit - recommending adoption where it augments how teams already work, and saying no where it doesn't
  • Help establish MTP-wide guidance and education around responsible and effective use of AI
  • Build and lead a small team of Technology Solutions Consultants who work directly with agencies on adoption, training, and support
  • Facilitate and support the MTP AI Council, helping identify, evaluate, and share promising ideas and practices across agencies
  • Identify successful solutions within one agency that could benefit other agencies across MTP
  • Track adoption, outcomes, and efficiency gains to understand what is working and where to focus future investment
  • Stay current on emerging AI and technology capabilities and evaluate where they may provide meaningful value to MTP
  • Represent the technology point of view in cross-agency planning conversations, balancing network-wide consistency against individual agency needs
  • Partner with agency leaders and teams to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, repetitive work, errors, and other business challenges that may be addressed through technology or process improvements
  • Ensure solutions are selected based on the business problem rather than a specific technology, platform, or vendor. Track and report on adoption and efficiency gains - what's working, what isn't, and where to invest next
  • Partner with product and engineering teams when a solution requires custom development or technical expertise

Qualifications - To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Strong understanding of AI and emerging technology, with hands-on experience using and evaluating AI tools and platforms
  • A track record of driving adoption, not just selecting tools - comfortable with the change-management side of the job, not only the technical evaluation side
  • A curious, creative, and practical approach to problem-solving
  • Strong stakeholder management skills; able to work credibly across ten distinct agency cultures without imposing a one-size-fits-all mandate
  • Familiarity with AI tools and platforms and how they apply to marketing, data, and operations work - product or platform management experience is a plus
  • Comfortable managing a small team and being a hands-on builder at the same time
  • Experience translating business challenges into technology, AI, automation, or process solutions
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize competing opportunities, and move projects forward
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to explain technology and AI concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Agency, marketing services, creative, or professional services experience is a plus

Total Perks Package
  • The chance to be a part of a growing company and the next success story
  • Amazing opportunities for career development
  • Recognition programs
  • Employee referral bonus
  • Hybrid work schedule; 3 days in the office, 2 days working from home
  • Fun and collaborative work environment
  • Casual dress code
  • Insurance Coverage (medical, dental, vision, life, and disability)
  • 401(k) retirement plan, with employer 4% match
  • Work/life benefits, including mental health and wellbeing support
  • Flexible Time Off Policy
  • Paid holidays, including agency soft closing Christmas Eve-New Year's Day
  • Paid leave options, including sick leave, medical leave for self and family, and parental leave
