Position Description

Director of Student Conduct
(Administrator II)

Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated salary hiring range is $7,916 - $10,000 per month, commensurate with qualifications and experience.


This is a CSU Management Personnel Plan (MPP) position.

The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 15 paid holidays a year. Eligible employees are also able to participate in the fee waiver education program. A summary of benefit information can be found here.

Job Summary

Reporting directly to the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students, the Director of Student Conduct manages the university-wide conduct/judicial processes for individual students and student organizations, including Greek Life.

The Director manages cases of allegations of the Student Code of Conduct/Title V of the California Code of Regulations and relevant executive orders, and recommends disciplinary sanctions, educational and reconciliatory when appropriate. The director is also key in providing advice and educational resources related to student behavior to faculty and staff.

The nature of the work performed by the Director is highly confidential and sensitive and requires collaboration with numerous individuals and offices on campus as well as interacts with the University Legal Counsel, CSU Chancellor's Office, University Police Department, Counseling Services, Disability Services, academic deans, other campus administrators, and external/internal stakeholders on related concerns.

  • Demonstrated ability to use good problem solving, mediation and conflict resolution skills.

Conflict of Interest (MPP ONLY if applicable)  

The duties of this position will include participation in decisions that may have a material financial benefit to the incumbent. Therefore, the selected candidate will be required to file Conflict of Interest Form 700: Statement of Economic Interest when they first occupy the position, and on an annual basis, complete ethics training within 6 months of appointment, and attend this training every other year thereafter.
