The Software Solutions Director provides strategic leadership and oversight of a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) business within the Industrial Equipment and Automation Division. This role offers a unique opportunity to define and scale a new SaaS business to support the welding segment, shaping strategy, building critical capabilities, and driving expansion into a high-growth, evolving market. 
 

Key Responsibilities include:
 

Strategic Leadership:

  • Create and lead a new strategic growth platform, software as a service, establishing vision, priorities, and a scalable operating model aligned with organizational goals and emerging market opportunities.

  • Identify and develop the core capabilities, talent, and partnerships required to successfully enter and compete in the Saas space.

  • Develop and implement long-range and annual plans for the SaaS business unit aligned with organizational goals and market opportunities focused on scalable cloud solutions and financial performance.

  • Define and monitor KPIs to ensure business performance, customer satisfaction, and profitability.

  • Promote a culture of innovation, agility, and continuous improvement.

  • Govern and prioritize future opportunities to drive growth through Software solutions, with a focus on expanding into new and underdeveloped market segments.

Operational Management:

  • Develop, own and manage the business unit’s P&L, including revenue growth, cost control, and margin optimization.

  • Govern innovation initiatives and product lifecycle strategies including development, deployment, and sustainment.

  • Collaborate with the system architect and engineering team to ensure scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud architecture.

  • Develop and implement pricing models and sustainment strategies that reflect customer value and ensure profitability.

Team Leadership/Development:

  • Lead a high-performing team of program managers, system architects, engineers, and technical sales professionals.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.

  • Attract, develop, and retain top talent through coaching, mentorship, and career development.
     

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Partner across other ITW Welding divisions, legal, IT, and external development partners to align on priorities, business objectives and execution.

  • Build strong relationships with key customers and partners to drive adoption and satisfaction.

Customer Focus:

  • Champion a customer-first mindset and ensure solutions meet evolving customer needs.

  • Support technical sales and applications teams in development, deployment, and post-sales support.

  • Drive strategies to support product implementation and utilization in support of customer retention and value realization.

  • Act as a change agent, challenging the status quo and providing strategic foresight for future growth.
