Job description

This is a rare one. A ~$30M family-owned hospitality business, is looking for a Director of Operations to run the show across hospitality, retail, food and beverage, and resort operations.

If you've spent your career keeping multiple business lines humming at once, this role gives you the full picture: guest experience, P&L, team leadership, and a seat at the table with the executive team shaping where the business goes next.

What you'll actually be doing:

You'll run day-to-day operations across every business unit on property, from retail to lodging to F&B, and making sure they all hit the same bar for guest experience and standards. You'll build the SOPs and process improvements that keep a complex, multi-line operation running smoothly, and you'll own safety, cleanliness, and maintenance standards across high-traffic guest areas.

Additionally, you'll work directly with the CEO and executive team on strategy: setting goals, building the roadmap for growth, and translating long-term vision into KPIs each department can actually execute against. Budgets and P&L will sit with you too, including pricing strategy, margin improvement, and forecasting alongside finance.

On the people side, you'll lead a large, diverse team across multiple functions and locations, build training and succession plans with HR, and set a performance culture where accountability actually sticks.

What you bring:

  • 8+ years in multi-departmental operations management, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within hospitality, retail, or property management
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field (MBA a plus, not required)
  • Real financial fluency: budgets, P&L, forecasting, margin analysis, not just budget approval
  • A track record leading large teams across multiple locations or business functions
  • Comfort with compliance across hospitality, food service, and retail, and a hands-on approach when something needs fixing today, not next quarter

Why this role is worth a look:

This is not a cookie-cutter operation – the mandate here is to modernize and grow this org without losing what makes it distinctive. For an operator who wants breadth, autonomy, and a direct line to the CEO, this is a strong platform.

Please note that this position is based in-office 5 day per week and the office is ~35-50-minute commute from South San Jose.

Please apply if this sounds like the right opportunity for you!
