Overview
The Simulation Operations Manager provides operational leadership for the Riverside Simulation Training Lab (RSTL), functioning as enterprise clinical infrastructure supporting workforce readiness, patient safety, accreditation compliance, and interprofessional education. In partnership with the RSTL Medical Director and simulation education leadership, this role establishes and oversees centralized operational governance to ensure efficient, scalable, and sustainable delivery of simulation-based education aligned with organizational strategic priorities.
This position holds primary responsibility for operational management of the simulation lab, including budget oversight and financial stewardship, procurement and vendor management, inventory and supply chain coordination, and comprehensive equipment lifecycle oversight, including maintenance, service agreements, and technology infrastructure planning. The Simulation Operations Manager designs, implements, and continuously improves operational workflows, monitors resource utilization, and develops systems that support long-term sustainability and enterprise growth.
The Simulation Operations Manager provides direct supervision and leadership to assigned simulation staff, fostering accountability, role clarity, professional development, and high-performance operational standards aligned with Riverside's mission and quality goals.
Additionally, this role oversees operational infrastructure supporting the Simulation Leadership Development Fellowship program, ensuring sustainable program workflows, milestone tracking, and integration with institutional priorities.
Serving as a key operational liaison, the Simulation Operations Manager collaborates with simulation educators, clinical leadership, Graduate Medical Education, interdisciplinary departments, and institutional administrative offices to align operational infrastructure with educational objectives and enterprise initiatives. The role ensures compliance with accreditation standards and simulation best practices while advancing data-informed decision-making through performance analytics and operational reporting.
What you will do
  • Operational Governance & Simulation Operations Leadership
    โ€ข Provide operational leadership for the Riverside Simulation Training Lab ensuring efficient, scalable delivery of simulation-based education.

Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelors Degree, Healthcare Administration, Health Professions Education, Simulation Operations, Business Administration, Educational Technology, Organizational Leadership, or related field (Required)
  • Masters Degree, Healthcare Administration, Education, Organizational Leadership, Business Administration, or related discipline (Preferred)

Experience
  • 3-4 years Progressive operational leadership experience in healthcare operations, simulation operations, clinical education infrastructure, academic program operations, or comparable enterprise environment (Required)
  • 1 year Operational governance experience - Experience designing workflows, managing complex operational systems, or leading program infrastructure at scale (Required)
  • 1 year Supervisory/people leadership experience - Demonstrated leadership of professional or technical teams (Required)
  • 1 year Healthcare or academic medical environment - Experience within healthcare systems, simulation programs, or graduate medical education environments (Preferred)
  • 1 year Strategic planning or enterprise initiative experience - Participation in cross-departmental initiatives or organizational strategy implementation (Preferred)
