Job description

Director of Pricing, ClarityPay About ClarityPay

We give businesses and their customers peace of mind by solving complex credit challenges with precision, speed, and intelligence, combining deep expertise with advanced technology, to simplify the experience and deliver better outcomes, every time.

We're a fast-growing fintech empowering enterprise merchants with smarter, more adaptive pay-over-time solutions. From point-of-sale financing to “Buy Now, Pay Later” programs and loyalty integrated offers, we’re building configurable credit tools that help businesses serve more of their customers.

We value teamwork, clarity of purpose, and rigorous attention to data to drive action. We balance speed and excellence to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

About the Role

The Director of Pricing will be the architect and custodian of ClarityPay’s core economics. You will own the end-of-the-end pricing strategy, designing the financial structure that balances risk, profitability, and customer fairness across our platform. This role is highly strategic, directly influencing our competitive edge, merchant partnerships, and overall portfolio health. We are looking for a hands-on leader who is committed to optimizing the entire pricing infrastructure and streamlining the processes.

What You\'ll Own & Drive
  • Strategic Pricing & Modeling: Lead the development and evolution of our BNPL and IL pricing models, including origination fees, promotional tiers, and revenue sharing. Determine optimal economic structures that balance risk exposure, revenue goals, and IRR thresholds for forward flows.

  • Product Customization: Develop pricing segments at merchant level, and determine line sizes, terms and APRs that best meet the needs of the customer. Incorporate competitor analysis to develop product mixes that are likely to lead to conversion.

  • The Clarity Mandate: Champion our "No Fine Print" value. Build and enforce pricing methodologies that ensure complete clarity and simplicity in all customer disclosures, eliminating guesswork and fully embodying our commitment to transparency.

  • Conversion and Profitability Optimization: Leverage deep data analysis to set offer parameters and A/B test pricing variations that maximize conversion rates for key purchasing moments (e.g., medical, travel, high-ticket retail) while aggressively maintaining portfolio profitability targets.

  • Product & Cross-Functional Leadership: Serve as the primary pricing stakeholder for new product launches. Collaborate closely with Finance, Sales, Data Science, and Product teams to align pricing strategy with underwriting philosophy and go-to-market execution.

  • Monitoring: Continuously monitor KPIs and optimize offerings across merchants after launch. Ensure actual revenue at merchant and product level meets expectations.

  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure pricing frameworks adhere to federal and state lending regulations (APR caps, fee restrictions). Own the reporting requirements for merchants and forward flows.

What We\'re Looking For
  • Experience: 7+ years of progressive experience in pricing, financial modeling, or risk management within consumer finance (FinTech, BNPL, Credit Cards, or Installment Lending) is essential.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Statistics, or a highly quantitative field.

  • Strategic Thinking: Proven ability to translate complex financial concepts and risk profiles into simple, competitive, and transparent product offers.

  • Underwriting Alignment: Direct experience developing and implementing underwriting philosophies and scorecards that govern interest and fee generation while maximizing business goals.

  • Data Acumen: High proficiency in statistical analysis and advanced financial modeling tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Excel) to drive data-informed decision-making. Ability to automate pricing models for quick turnaround on new requests.

  • Communication: Strong stakeholder management and communication skills; Ability to turn data into actionable insights and influence senior leadership.
