Job description

Position Summary:

Aleut Federal is seeking a senior, market-facing technical leader specializing in cybersecurity solutions across Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) environments.

This role operates across the full lifecycle, including opportunity shaping, technical solutioning, capture, proposal development, pricing, and post-award delivery assurance.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on cyber architect with deep experience in classified and mission-critical environments, capable of designing secure systems aligned to Zero Trust, RMF, and modern cyber frameworks.

This is a build, sell, and validate role requiring both growth and delivery accountability.

Core Responsibilities

Growth, Sales Engineering & Solutioning

  • Lead cybersecurity solutioning for DoD and IC opportunities, including Zero Trust architectures, secure enclaves, cross-domain considerations, and mission-supporting cyber capabilities.
  • Directly influence and help drive technical wins by defining discriminators, leading customer and classified technical discussions, and translating security architecture into mission assurance and operational resilience.
  • Partner with Business Development and Capture to shape opportunities and defend technical approaches in secure and mission environments.

AI-Enabled Engineering (Required)

  • Aleut Federal expects AI to be used in practical, mission-aligned cyber applications where it improves operational outcomes.
  • Apply AI/ML to anomaly detection, threat analysis, prioritization, and security operations workflows.
  • Integrate AI into monitoring and cyber operations environments with clear controls, validation, and human oversight.
  • Required: experience applying AI to security or monitoring use cases. Strongly preferred for Senior Principal: delivered AI-enabled cyber systems or workflows in production or mission environments.
  • Ensure AI capabilities are secure, explainable, auditable, and compliant with DoD and IC requirements.

Capture, Proposal & Pricing

  • Lead and contribute to technical proposal development for cyber opportunities.
  • Author and own complete technical sections, including security architecture, control frameworks, operational model, and implementation approach.
  • Build BOEs aligned to compliance, architecture complexity, and operational sustainment.
  • Ensure solutions are executable, compliant, and differentiated.

Delivery Assurance & Technical QA

  • Ensure alignment between proposed and delivered cyber architectures in classified and mission environments.
  • Provide technical oversight during implementation, assessment, and transition phases.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to security posture, compliance, mission continuity, and cross-domain constraints.

Technical Marketing, Thought Leadership & Industry Engagement

  • Develop cyber-focused solution briefs, reference patterns, and capability messaging for DoD and IC audiences.
  • Actively participate in secure briefings, industry events, and mission forums and be willing to speak credibly in defense and intelligence-oriented settings.
  • Position Aleut Federal as a credible cyber partner in DoD and IC markets.

Required Qualifications

  • S. Citizenship (U.S. Citizens only).
  • Active Top Secret clearance. TS/SCI strongly preferred.
  • 7+ years of U.S. federal experience with substantial DoD and Intelligence Community experience.
  • Hands-on cybersecurity architecture experience in classified or mission-critical environments.
  • Experience with RMF, Zero Trust, NIST 800-53, and related DoD security frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cross-domain solutions and secure data sharing patterns.
  • Experience in cyber operations or threat intelligence environments.
  • Experience integrating AI/ML into cyber workflows.
  • Ability to obtain or maintain additional mission-specific access as required.

Certifications (Desired, Representative of Level)

  • CISSP
  • CISM
  • CASP+
  • CEH

Position Profile Summary

  • DoD/IC-focused
  • TS-cleared and mission-oriented
  • Growth-driven with direct impact on technical wins
  • Hands-on and delivery accountable
  • Operationally credible

Salary Range: $150,000-$225,000
