Job description

We are seeking a Director of Sales at Hilton Garden Inn Greensboro Airport. The Director of Sales is the primary driver of revenue and market performance for your assigned property. You serve as a key leadership figure, representing the hotel with professionalism and courtesy while delivering the highest standards of customer service. Working in close cooperation with Corporate and Management staff, you take full responsibility for occupancy, revenue, and RevPAR growth. Your mission is to foster a cohesive working environment across all departments to maximize property exposure and overall profitability.
What You'll Do
Strategic Sales & Revenue Management
  • Implement and lead all sales activities based on market strategies developed in collaboration with the General Manager and Corporate Director of Sales and Marketing.
  • Control room dates, availability, and rates within the Revenue Management System in coordination with assigned Revenue Managers.
  • Review sales statistics and market analysis to determine client needs, occupancy potential, and target rates.
  • Negotiate pricing and present group agreements or local negotiated rate (LNR) proposals to clients within a 12-hour window.
  • Actively participate in the RFP process for incoming business in cooperation with the Corporate DOS.

Business Development & Relationship Management
  • Proactively solicit new business through research on market trends, new developments, and target companies.
  • Establish a strong rapport with guests and clients to secure return business and resolve issues for accounts considering a change in properties.
  • Conduct site tours for interested groups and coordinate transient and group room commitments to ensure an ideal market mix.
  • Maintain a continued focus on current guests by sending thank you notes and providing welcome in-room gifts or VIP amenities.
  • Input and track all sales activities, bookings, and contracts accurately into the Delphi.fdc system.

Community Advocacy & Brand Leadership
  • Represent the hotel at community networking functions and lead "business after hours" events with the local Chamber of Commerce.
  • Stay current with all brand standard requirements and complete all necessary training and classes required by Daly Seven and the specific brand represented.
  • Plan and prepare for marketing sales blitzes as needed to enhance property visibility.
  • Act as a positive and professional role model, serving as the Weekend Manager on Duty (MOD) once per month.

Qualifications
  • Minimum one year Hilton/PEP experience.
  • Proven leadership experience in a sales or management role within the hospitality industry.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to maintain productive working relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage group agreements, rooming lists, and cutoff dates effectively.
  • Proficiency in hospitality sales software (such as Delphi.fdc) and revenue management systems.
