ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Engineering Director is responsible for leading large-scale engineering initiatives across multiple teams, ensuring that the engineering function aligns with the company's overall business strategy. This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, leadership ability, and strategic thinking. The Engineering Director oversees complex projects, manages senior engineering talent, and drives innovation to ensure that the company's technical solutions are industry-leading. In this role you will also play a key part in working with senior leadership to shape the company's long-term technical vision while guiding the organization through an agentic AI transition.

Your work will directly impact the security posture of organizations protecting their most valuable AI assets, from financial institutions and healthcare systems to government agencies and Fortune 500 enterprises.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Engineering Leadership & Oversight: Oversee the performance and output of multiple engineering teams, ensuring that projects are executed effectively and align with company goals. Provide guidance and mentorship to engineering managers and senior technical staff.
  • Strategic Planning & Vision: Collaborate with the VP of Engineering and other senior leaders to develop the engineering strategy and roadmap. Shepherd our systems and processes through our ongoing agentic transformation.
  • Project Management & Execution: Manage large-scale, complex engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and with high quality. Oversee project prioritization, resource allocation, and risk management.
  • Technical Innovation & Excellence: Drive innovation in technology and processes with a focus on agentic loop engineering, ensuring that the company remains competitive and up-to-date with the latest developments in software and system architecture. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Partner with product management, design, operations, and other departments to ensure cohesive execution of business strategies. Act as the engineering liaison with other business units, ensuring that technical solutions meet business needs.
  • Team Development & Mentorship: Build, scale, and develop engineering talent. Provide mentorship to engineering directors and other senior technical staff, ensuring they grow in leadership and technical expertise.
  • Performance Metrics & Reporting: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for engineering teams. Regularly report on progress, performance, and issues to senior leadership.
  • Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and optimize engineering workflows, development processes, and tools to increase efficiency and productivity. Implement best practices in agile development, software quality assurance, and deployment pipelines.
  • Risk Management & Problem Solving: Identify potential technical risks and work proactively to mitigate them. Provide solutions for complex technical challenges and ensure that engineering projects stay on course.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering or related technical roles, with 5+ years in leadership positions, preferably at the director or senior manager level.
  • Proven track record of leading multiple engineering teams and delivering complex, high-impact projects.
  • Strong technical background with deep knowledge of software development, systems architecture, and cloud technologies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to align technical efforts with business objectives.
  • Experience with agile methodologies, continuous integration, and modern DevOps practices.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to manage and resolve complex technical challenges.
  • Ability to collaborate with executive leadership and non-technical stakeholders to drive business results.
