Clarity Consultants is seeking an experienced Learning Strategist with rental car operations experience to lead a comprehensive, end-to-end assessment of an organization’s learning and development function. This approximately three-month engagement will evaluate the effectiveness, consistency, and business impact of current training and identify opportunities to modernize the learning experience, improve frontline performance, and increase organizational efficiency.

The ideal consultant combines deep learning strategy and assessment expertise with firsthand knowledge of rental car operations. This industry experience is required to effectively evaluate how training translates to frontline behaviors, operational performance, customer experience, and revenue outcomes across rental locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a comprehensive audit of the organization’s current learning and development ecosystem, including approximately 50 existing learning assets.
  • Assess onboarding, curriculum structure, instructional design, and overall content quality to determine effectiveness and opportunities for modernization.
  • Review existing ILT, eLearning, digital learning, and other training resources for relevance, consistency, usability, and alignment with business and operational needs.
  • Conduct onsite interviews with frontline employees, managers, trainers, and subject matter experts across multiple U.S. locations.
  • Evaluate how training is delivered and applied across locations, identifying regional differences, knowledge-transfer challenges, performance gaps, and opportunities for standardization.

  • Analyze the business impact and effectiveness of training using available measures such as employee retention, location review scores, learning effectiveness, customer experience, and revenue performance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve learning efficiency, eliminate unnecessary or redundant training, and better leverage existing learning resources.
  • Develop actionable recommendations and a prioritized roadmap for strengthening and modernizing the L&D function.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership, including the CEO.

Required Experience

  • Direct rental car operations experience is required, with a strong understanding of frontline rental operations, customer-facing roles, location management, and the operational environment.
  • Significant experience in learning strategy, learning consulting, and organizational learning assessments/audits.
  • Demonstrated success conducting end-to-end evaluations of established training programs and translating findings into practical recommendations.
  • Experience evaluating onboarding, curriculum architecture, ILT, eLearning, LMS environments, and knowledge transfer.
  • Strong background conducting onsite discovery, stakeholder interviews, focus groups, and SME interviews across multiple locations or regions.
  • Ability to connect learning initiatives to operational and business outcomes, including employee performance, retention, customer experience, and revenue.
  • Experience analyzing large volumes of existing learning content and identifying opportunities to consolidate, modernize, standardize, or improve training.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative findings into clear conclusions and recommendations.
  • Exceptional executive communication and presentation skills, with the presence and credibility to present findings and recommendations to C-suite leadership.
  • Automotive industry experience in addition to rental car experience is a plus.

  • Strengths, gaps, and areas of risk
  • Effectiveness of current onboarding and training
  • Frontline knowledge transfer and application
  • Content and curriculum modernization opportunities
  • LMS and digital learning observations
  • Opportunities for greater consistency and efficiency across locations
  • Business impact and learning effectiveness findings
  • Prioritized recommendations and actionable next steps for advancing the L&D function
