CLSH VISION: Strive to be the best public psychiatric hospital possible CLSH VALUES "I CARE": Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence Central Louisiana State Hospital located in Pineville, Louisiana is seeking applicants for a vacant position in our CLINIC as a/an PHYSICIAN who is responsible for provision of medical care and the emergency treatment of patients on assigned units. The Physician plays a vital role for the Louisiana Department of Health in the Behavioral Health community by utilizing CLSH's values and mission to deliver quality and effective care to our patients.

The hospital is highly committed to cooperative work with other state agencies and with the state and regional mental health program to insure the integration and coordination of hospital-community services into a comprehensive system of mental health care. Minimum Qualifications Valid unrestricted Louisiana Medical license. Job Specification To provide medical care and emergency treatment for inpatient clients.

Supervision Received: Direct from the Medical Director Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: The medical physician is responsible for provision of medical care and the emergency treatment of patients on assigned unit. Perform physical examinations on all patients upon admit to facility and annually. Evaluate, diagnose, treat and follow-up medical problems on patients.

Refer to medical specialists as appropriate for care. Order laboratory tests, radiological studies, dental work, special diets and medications as indicated by patient's condition. Closely collaborate and discuss patient's condition with psychiatrists and other members of the treatment team to help in the management of the most appropriate patient care.

May testify in court as a medical witness. Advise Administration of special health care needs of patient population and further advise as the requirements for contracting specialty consultations. Regularly attend Medical Staff and other committee meetings as scheduled.

If Board Certified, maintain current certification. Comply with CME requirements for state licensure and/or Board Certification. Adhere to LDH, OBH, Civil Service and CLSH rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and to the legal and ethical standards of the profession.

Perform other duties as determined by the Medical Director. Salary is based on qualifications. How To Apply: No Civil Service test score is required in order to be considered for this vacancy.
