Job description

Director of Sourcing

Location: Raleigh Metro
Schedule: Onsite 5 days/wk

We are seeking an experienced Director of Sourcing to lead global sourcing strategy, supplier partnerships, product quality, cost optimization, and manufacturing execution for a growing consumer products organization.

This strategic leader will work cross-functionally to strengthen the supply chain, support product launches, improve margins, and build a resilient global vendor network.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and execute global sourcing strategies across product categories.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard manufacturing partners that support growth and innovation.
  • Build and manage long-term relationships with international suppliers.
  • Lead supplier negotiations involving pricing, payment terms, minimum order quantities, capacity, and service expectations.
  • Drive cost-saving and value-engineering initiatives while protecting product quality and brand standards.
  • Analyze product costing and recommend strategies to improve gross margin.
  • Establish supplier performance metrics for quality, delivery, innovation, compliance, and cost.
  • Oversee factory audits, supplier compliance initiatives, and corrective actions when issues arise.
  • Partner with Product Development from concept through production, including materials, finishes, manufacturing techniques, and sourcing feasibility.
  • Monitor global sourcing trends, tariffs, geopolitical developments, and market conditions to proactively manage risk.
  • Support inventory planning, seasonal product reviews, and cross-functional business planning.
  • Mentor team members and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of sourcing leadership experience within consumer products.
  • Extensive experience working with international manufacturing partners, including suppliers in Asia.
  • Strong expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier management, negotiation, product costing, and margin improvement.
  • Experience managing multiple global vendors and supplier relationships.
  • Knowledge of quality systems, product compliance, and factory auditing practices.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • The ability to balance quality, speed, cost, and long-term supply-chain resilience.

Preferred Background

Experience sourcing accessories, jewelry, home décor, or comparable consumer products is strongly preferred.
