Director of Engineering
Job Description
The Hotel Director of Engineering is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within the hotel. They are also responsible for managing the engineering staff and ensuring that all work is completed in a timely and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing HVAC and pool systems within the hotel.
  • Manage the engineering staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to ensure the longevity of all systems and equipment.
  • Ensure that all work is completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure that all guest needs are met.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
  • Manage the department budget and ensure that all expenses are within budget.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and contractors.
  • Stay up to date with new technologies and industry trends.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations
  • Pool and Spa Operations Certified and HVAC chiller systems certification will be an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software
