Lifesteps, a local, human services agency is seeking an Employment Services and Transition Director to oversee the Employment Services Program for Special Needs Individuals.

The Director, Employment Services is responsible for the development, operation and supervision of the Employment Services Program. The Director ensures clients who have intellectual or developmental disabilities receive high quality training in vocational, daily living and social skills that foster self-reliance in preparation for competitive employment.

The Employment Services Director ensures services to eligible people with disabilities on an individualized basis. This includes assisting individuals in selecting their choice of vocational goals, obtaining employment, and maintaining employment, along with assistance of workplace accommodation, if needed.

The Employment and Transition Services Director will be responsible for promoting a positive work environment, oversight of the staff and job coaches in the program, and creation of documentation and reporting for OVR, ODP, and management staff.

The position works Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm and is based in Butler, PA.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associates Degree or equivalent credits (60) and 6 years of experience working directly with adults with disabilities and 4 years of Supervisory experience OR
  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree and 3 years of experience working with adults with disabilities and at least 2 years supervisory experience OR
  • Masterโ€™s Degree and 1-year experience working directly with adults with disabilities
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Current driverโ€™s license and the ability to travel for business utilizing personal vehicle
  • Previous experience in a specific area of instruction such as adult training, vocational rehabilitation, or special education is preferred.
  • ACRE (Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators) certification in employment services preferred.
  • Lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 200 pounds with assistance and 40 pounds without assistance.
  • Ability to obtain acceptable clearances
