Job description

Thank you for your interest in employment with Southeastern Louisiana University.
Southeastern Louisiana University's Vice President of University Advancement invites applications for the position of Director of Development. This position is responsible for providing strategic oversight and management of the development team and directly managing a donor portfolio. The Director directly supervises development staff while identifying, cultivating, solicitating, and stewarding donors and prospects with the capacity to make a leadership ($1,000+), major ($25,000+), and/or planned gift. This position reports directly to the Vice President of University Advancement.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree.
Five years of demonstrated successful management and fundraising or related experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree.
Experience successfully building, sustaining, and enhancing relationships with diverse range of external and internal stakeholders.
Strong record of managing multiple projects and priorities successfully and under deadlines with an attention to detail.
Experience in higher education, sales, business development, or related field preferred.
Direct solicitation of five-figure level gifts desired.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS
Ability to lead a team while also working independently to meet individual metrics.
Adept at using various technology applications and CRM systems.
Must be willing to travel and work weekends and evenings as needed.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
