Job description

Joyful Discovery Preschool at Mary, Queen of Peace is seeking a highly qualified, dedicated and outgoing candidate for the position ofย  Preschool Teacher for our Pre-Kindergarten Class for the Fall of 2025.ย 

You will have the opportunity to make a difference in children's lives by providing them with a safe and nurturing environment that encourages their social, emotional, physical, spiritual and intellectual development. You will teach with a fun and talented team of dedicated teachers and directors,ย while assisting in the design and implementation of a developmentally appropriate curriculum.ย  Applicants will have the aptitude to collaboratively maintain positive relationships with our students, parents, and coworkers.ย  Strong work ethic, excellent communication and classroom management skills are a must.

  • This position isย 18 hours per week, Monday through Thursday (9am-1:30pm) with additional planning hours to equal 2 hours per week.ย 
  • There is an 8:1 student/teacher ratio.ย 
  • This position is not benefits eligible, except for Workerโ€™s Comp.

Position Requirements/Preferences:

  • Is faith-filled and is committed to the mission and ministry of Mary, Queen of Peace and uses the teachings of Christ in creating a supportive environment for children and families
  • Enjoys working as part of a team.ย 
  • Is organized, creative, energetic & dependable.ย 
  • Knowledge of the varied & necessary developmental stages of preschool ย ย ย ย ย ย ย aged children
  • Must be able to create and implement a weekly curriculum.ย 
  • Experience working with preschool aged children.
  • Bachelor of Arts, preferably in Education or Early Childhood
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Lead Teacher in Pre-K, or in primary ย ย ย ย gradesย 
  • Provide a warm nurturing environment.
  • Ability to speak and write fluent English.
  • Current resident of Washington State
  • Complete a successful background check through VIRTUS
