Salary:

HB Construction seeks a strategic and experienced Vice President of Preconstruction and Estimating to lead preconstruction strategy, estimating operations, and pursuit planning across the company. This executive role ensures accurate project budgeting, disciplined risk management, and strong market positioning that supports profitable growth. This role partners closely with Project Development, Operations, Marketing, and Executive Leadership to guide pursuit strategy, provide constructability insight, and strengthen HBs reputation as a trusted construction partner.


Responsibilities
Lead pursuit strategy, constructability planning, and pricing approach to strengthen competitiveness and win positioning.
Oversee bid strategy, scope review, and risk management to protect margins and support profitable growth.
Direct preparation of conceptual budgets, detailed estimates, and GMP proposals with a focus on accuracy and predictability.
Ensure clear scope documentation, assumptions, and risk identification to support seamless transition to Operations.
Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, architects, and owners to strengthen collaboration and pursuit success.
Align estimating, operations, marketing, and executive leadership during pursuits and proposal development.
Advance estimating processes, cost data management, and Procore workflows to improve efficiency and consistency.
Lead, mentor, and develop the estimating team while building future leadership capacity.


Qualifications
15 plus years of commercial construction experience
Extensive leadership experience in preconstruction and estimating
Proven success managing complex pursuits and project budgets
Strong understanding of construction methods, scheduling, and cost control
Experience leading estimating teams and major bid efforts
Procore and modern estimating technology experience preferred
