Director of Manufacturing Engineering | $150,000–$175,000 Base + Bonus | Onsite – David City, NE | Direct Hire

What Matters Most:
  • Base salary between $150,000–$175,000, plus an annual performance bonus and company-wide annual bonus. 
  • 10+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience with a proven track record of improving manufacturing processes and leading engineering teams. 
  • Strong background in capital equipment projects, process improvement, tooling, manufacturing strategy, and continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), engineering changes (ECO/ECN), and Design for Manufacturability (DFM). 
  • Hands-on leader who enjoys partnering with Operations, Product Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost. 
Job Description:
Our client is seeking a Director of Manufacturing Engineering to lead its Manufacturing Engineering organization at a flagship manufacturing facility in Nebraska. This strategic leadership role is responsible for driving operational excellence through manufacturing process improvements, capital equipment implementation, new technology integration, and continuous improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong manufacturing engineering background, proven leadership experience, and the ability to develop manufacturing strategies that improve efficiency, product quality, and plant performance in a high-mix manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Manufacturing Engineering team while establishing priorities and supporting professional growth. 
  • Develop and execute manufacturing engineering strategies focused on improving safety, quality, productivity, and operational efficiency. 
  • Lead capital equipment projects, manufacturing process improvements, tooling development, facility layout optimization, and implementation of new manufacturing technologies. 
  • Partner closely with Product Engineering to successfully launch new products into manufacturing while supporting engineering changes and Design for Manufacturability (DFM). 
  • Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Production, and Supply Chain to eliminate bottlenecks, improve throughput, and reduce manufacturing costs. 
  • Develop manufacturing standards, project plans, and engineering roadmaps that support long-term business growth and operational excellence. 
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required. 
  • Minimum of 10 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience within a manufacturing environment. 
  • At least 4 years of leadership experience managing engineering teams, budgets, and capital improvement projects. 
  • Demonstrated experience leading manufacturing process improvements, tooling, automation, and capital equipment implementation. 
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement methodologies, and manufacturing best practices. 
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and SolidWorks or comparable CAD software. 
  • Excellent communication, project management, and cross-functional leadership skills.
