Job description

Director of Operations – Partnerships for Dentists

Multiple Locations | Travel Required | Full-Time $110,000–$120,000 Base Salary + Performance Bonus

About Us

Partnerships for Dentists is a growing Dental Support Organization (DSO) that partners with more than 40 dental practices across approximately 15 states. Our growth is driven through practice acquisitions rather than de novo startups, allowing each office to maintain its established culture, clinical autonomy, and unique identity. Many of our practices operate under a partnership model in which doctors retain partial ownership, creating strong alignment and long-term investment in the success of their practices. This approach preserves the feel and individuality of a private practice while providing the resources, support, and benefits of a larger organization. We are seeking a Director of Operations to provide strategic and operational leadership across six dental practices, helping drive growth, performance, and exceptional patient care.

Position Summary

The Director of Operations oversees the performance, growth, and day-to-day operations of five dental practices. This role carries full P&L responsibility and is accountable for operational excellence, team development, and patient satisfaction across multiple locations. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of multi-site dental operations leadership experience and strong analytical, financial, and people-management skills.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, coach, and support Practice Managers and office teams
  • Foster a culture of accountability, service excellence, and high performance
  • Set clear expectations and drive team results

Operations & Financial Management

  • Maintain full P&L responsibility for assigned practices
  • Oversee payroll, scheduling, collections, accounts receivable, and cash reconciliation
  • Review KPIs regularly to identify opportunities and improve performance

Strategic Growth

  • Develop and execute plans to increase capacity, revenue, and service quality
  • Identify operational gaps and implement process improvements
  • Partner with doctors and teams on growth and expansion initiatives

Technology & Compliance

  • Utilize dental practice management software to monitor performance
  • Conduct audits and ensure operational compliance
  • Assess and plan for technology and capital investment needs

Relationship Management

  • Build strong partnerships with doctors, managers, and team members
  • Maintain a consistent presence across all five locations, including overnight travel
  • Represent the organization professionally within local communities and the dental industry

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of multi-site dental operations leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of dental practice operations, including budgeting, payroll, KPIs, P&L management, collections, scheduling, and compliance
  • Advanced Excel skills for reporting and analysis
  • Proven servant leadership approach with strong team-building abilities
  • Demonstrated record of operational success, stability, and data-driven decision-making
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly, including overnight stays

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $110,000–$120,000, based on experience
  • Performance-based bonus opportunity
  • Medical insurance (UnitedHealthcare – low deductible)
  • Surgery Plus ($0 out-of-pocket for eligible procedures)
  • Free 24/7 telehealth access
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Generous PTO and paid holidays
