Director of Patient Accounts / Finance / Full Time / DaysThe Director, Patient Accounts provides leadership and oversight of insurance billing operations to ensure accuracy, compliance, and optimal financial performance while supporting staff development, system integrity, and continuous improvement. Director, Patient Accounts is an onsite position.

Essential Functions

  • Direct revenue cycle operations by supervising billing staff, prioritizing workflows, monitoring productivity, and ensuring effective onboarding and ongoing training.
  • Design and implement strategies and workflows that reduce denials and writeoffs, shorten days in A/R, and improve cash collections through crossdepartment collaboration.
  • Ensure billing accuracy by conduct compliance reviews, conducting coding integrity by collaborating with Health Information Management, monitoring payer changes, and maintaining organized reference documentation.
  • Lead denial management and compliance oversight by analyzing root causes, conducting internal reviews, implementing corrective actions, and ensuring adherence to billing regulations and HIPAA requirements.
  • Oversees timely completions of authorizations by precertification staff.
  • Prepare, prevent, protect and respond to support our culture of safety.
  • Works hours per week in accordance with offer letter or per attributes of position at transfer request. May be expected to work longer hours as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education: High school diploma or GED

License: None

Experience:

  • Four (4) years management experience
  • Five (5) years revenue cycle experience
