    Job description

    Midnight Cook/ Dietary/ Part time/ NightsWood County Hospital is now accepting applications for a midnight Cook in our dietary department. Under the supervision of the department head and/or supervisor, the cook provides personal care and professional excellence by preparing, seasoning and cooking food for hospital patients, employees and visitors.

    Job Duties:

    • Prepares and serves food for midnight cafeteria meal service
    • Prepares breakfast for cafeteria and patient breakfast tray line
    • Serves breakfast on the patient tray line
    • Prepares desserts for cafeteria and patients
    • Determines stocking needs for patient floor supplies
    • Properly reviews menus to determine type and quantities of meats, vegetables, starches, and desserts to be prepared.
    • Plans proper cooking schedule in conjunction with supervisor to ensure that food will be ready at specified times. Confers with supervisor regarding modified diet preparation and use of left overs.
    • Properly washes, trims, cooks and seasoning of food items for each meal.
    • Properly observes and practices sanitary and safe infection control standards
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision
    • Other duties as assigned

    Shift Details:

    8 hours/ week, 16 hours per pay period

    Shift: Every other weekend, 12:00am - 8:30 am


    Minimum Requirements:

    • Prior cooking experience required.
    • Previous hospital and institutional cooking experience
    • Knowledge of therapeutic (modified) diets
    • Servsafe preferred or willing to become certified
