Location: Hybrid (Belgium)
Reports to: CEO / CTO

Role Overview

Lead the development and execution of our product innovation strategy, focusing on flexibility markets and grid services across European energy systems. Shape OakTree Power’s product portfolio and drive commercial success in rapidly evolving energy markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the innovation roadmap for flexibility markets, demand response, and grid services.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with TSOs, DSOs, and key grid stakeholders.
  • Identify, apply for, and manage innovation grants (Horizon Europe, national programmes).
  • Oversee the delivery of strategic market product initiatives from concept to commercial launch.
  • Monitor flexibility market developments, regulatory changes, and the competitive landscape.
  • Coordinate cross‑functional teams and manage project budgets, timelines, and resources.
  • Energy Markets Expertise
    • Deep understanding of flexibility markets and demand response (essential).
    • Proven track record in leading flexibility market initiatives.
    • Established TSO/DSO contacts and relationships (highly desirable).
  • Grant and Funding
    • Demonstrated success in securing innovation grants and public funding.
    • Experience with Horizon Europe, Innovate UK, or similar programmes.
  • Project Management
    • Strong project management capabilities, delivering complex initiatives.
    • Experience managing cross‑functional teams and concurrent projects.
  • Stakeholder Management
