About the Role

We're looking for a seasoned leader for Verkada's global security team and function. You'll report to the General Counsel, work with leaders across the organization on all elements of global security, including physical security, insider threats, threat intelligence, supply chain security, and executive protection. You will also lead a recently-built rockstar team of four security professionals who are excited to work with you to take Verkada's global security programs to the next level. Plus, all of Verkada's market-leading technology will be at your disposal to leverage in your global physical security program. If you enjoy building from the ground up, this role is for you!

What You'll  Do

  • Lead a global physical security program that identifies and addresses all physical security threats to Verkada personnel and facilities.
  • Oversee all physical security systems and partner with the Facilities and Construction & Planning teams to install and maintain physical security systems globally.
  • Manage all aspects of external and internal security threat assessments, including but not limited to the prevention, investigation, and prosecution of the theft and unauthorized access to and disclosure of the company's intellectual property and confidential information.
  • Drive supply chain security across Verkada's ever-growing and worldwide product portfolio.
  • Enable and document global security program compliance by implementing and maintaining physical security program SOPs, programs, and policies and by conducting regular workplace training to ensure compliance.
  • Lead a team of security professionals, empowering them to drive a wide array of security initiatives.
  • Provide strategic direction on evolving global security and safety issues.
  • Work with executives as needed on physical security protection plans.
  • Partner with Legal and People leads to conduct certain internal investigations as needed.
  • Manage vendors as needed for threat assessments, guard deployment.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering leaders to provide feedback on new and existing tools.

What You Bring

  • 10+ years operational experience in global security planning and operational execution in corporate environments with exposure to international locations.
  • 3+ years of experience successfully managing a team.
  • Deep experience and expertise in physical security and risk assessment methodologies, including global threat assessments of geographies, geopolitical risks, physical locations, and personnel.
  • Deep experience and expertise in assessing and preventing internal and external security threats, including but not limited to the prevention, investigation, and prosecution of the theft and unauthorized access to and disclosure of the company's intellectual property and confidential information.
  • Familiarity with technical forensic investigations of the theft and unauthorized access to and disclosure of the company's intellectual property and confidential information, and technical measures to mitigate against such risks.
  • Experience building a physical security program from the ground up.
  • Established history of cross functional partnership with: Legal, Real Estate, C-Suite, People / HR, Finance, Info Security.
  • Experience writing a custom business continuity plan + disaster recovery plan.
  • Experience creating security plans for executive travel.
  • Working knowledge of Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) regulatory requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree in business management, law enforcement or other.
  • Knowledge of global corporate security standards, policies, metrics.
  • Experience in guard deployment and supplier selection / vendor management.
  • Excellent planning and project management skills.
