  • Lead and participate in customer RFQ and RFP processes.
  • Oversee contract pricing, rate negotiations, and commercial agreements.
  • Develop carrier management and capacity strategies that support service, profitability, and customer growth.
  • Evaluate customer and lane profitability and identify opportunities to improve margins.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with customers, carriers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Use TMS platforms and operational data to monitor activity, service levels, and performance.
  • Establish, track, and improve brokerage KPIs.
  • Help develop scalable processes and operating standards as the brokerage organization grows.
  • Maintain a highly visible leadership presence with the team from the Ferndale office.

What You Bring

  • Proven leadership experience within a freight brokerage operation.
  • Experience leading, coaching, and developing high-performing teams.
  • Direct experience selling freight transportation or developing transportation customers.
  • Strong understanding of freight operations, carrier management, and capacity strategy.
  • Experience managing RFQs and RFPs.
  • Experience with freight pricing, contract negotiation, and customer agreements.
  • Demonstrated ownership of revenue, gross profit, profitability, and operational KPIs.
  • Experience working with a Transportation Management System (TMS).
  • Strong commercial judgment with the ability to balance customer service, growth, and profitability.
  • Ability to identify performance issues and coach employees toward measurable improvement.
  • Strong communication, decision-making, and accountability skills.
  • Willingness to work 100% onsite in Ferndale, Monday through Friday.
  • Finished vehicle transportation or automotive logistics experience is a major plus.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary of $90,000 – $140,000, based on experience and qualifications.
  • Monthly commission starting at 0.5% of commissionable monthly gross profit.
