Job description

About the Role

The Equity Product Management (EPM) team is a global function within the Client Platform, responsible for shaping and executing the commercial strategy of Wellingtonโ€™s equity franchise. The Head of EPM leads the global equity platform, stewarding its commercial lifecycle, portfolio governance, pricing, succession planning, and crisisโ€‘response communications.

The role requires strategic oversight of equity product strategy, close partnership with investment and infrastructure platforms, and direct leadership of a global team of 40+ product managers. It demands a focus on smart growth, channel penetration, and alignment with client allocation decisions.

Responsibilities
  • Set and own the global strategy, development, and lifecycle management of Wellingtonโ€™s equity products, accountable for revenue, net client growth, and channel expansionโ€”particularly in Wealth.
  • Serve as a senior thought partner to Investment Platform leadership on longโ€‘term equity strategy, portfolio architecture, and manager transitions.
  • Act as a visible leadership driver in firmwide equity strategy discussions.
  • Translate investment insight into compelling equity propositions that improve win rates, support asset growth, and strengthen client relevance across regions and channels.
  • Act as the primary external representative of the equity franchise, driving revenue and net new client acquisition through positioning, relationship management, storytelling, and access to priority Wealth platforms.
  • Lead or support highโ€‘stakes client engagementsโ€”defense situations, repricing discussions, complex transitions, and sensitive succession communicationsโ€”to protect and grow revenue and maintain reputational integrity.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a global team of senior Investment Directors and functional leaders; oversee performance management, development, succession planning, promotions, and compensation decisions.
  • Build a strong, inclusive leadership culture grounded in accountability, rigorous feedback, disciplined riskโ€‘taking, and continuous improvement.
  • Deepen collaboration with regional leaders to strengthen opportunity development, improve conversion, and drive net new client growth and revenue, especially in priority Wealth segments and platforms.
  • Oversee resource allocation across Equity Product Management to balance commercial priorities, investment support, and firmwide objectives.
  • Proactively evolve team structure, role clarity, and coverage models to reflect changes in product lineup, client demand, and regional needs.
  • Provide senior oversight of risk identification, escalation, and mitigation across the equity product lineup, ensuring appropriate governance and investment integrity.
  • Shape firmwide dialogue on equity positioning, portfolio design, risk, and longโ€‘term scalability.
  • Foster strong crossโ€‘functional collaboration across the Investment Platform, Client Group, and partner functions.
  • Represent Equity Product Management in firmwide forums, leadership discussions, and strategic initiatives.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor in complex firmwide initiatives where sequencing, communication, and crossโ€‘stakeholder coordination are critical to success.
Qualifications

The Head of Equity Product Management is an enterprise leader who combines investment credibility, commercial acumen, and people leadership. The role requires comfort operating in ambiguity, making highโ€‘stakes decisions with incomplete information, and balancing nearโ€‘term commercial pressures with longโ€‘term franchise health.

  • 15+ years of experience in investment management with deep knowledge of equity markets.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing and developing highโ€‘performing teams.
  • Strong technical proficiency with market data tools such as FactSet and/or Bloomberg.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills; able to distill complex analytics into insights that resonate with investors.
  • Proven track record of partnership with Investment Directors or Institutional PMs, portfolio managers, analysts, and senior leaders in a collaborative investment environment.
  • Experience with portfolio or partner succession planning, pricing governance, and investment or productโ€‘related committee work.
  • Advanced degree (MBA, MS, or PhD) and/or professional designation (CFA, CAIA, or FRM) preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Base salary range: USD 120,000 โ€“ 225,000 (adjusted for skill set, role, experience, certifications, and education).
  • Discretionary corporate bonus and/or incentive awards.
  • Comprehensive benefits: retirement plan, health and wellness, dental, vision, pharmacy coverage, health savings account, flexible spending accounts, commuter program, employee assistance program, life and disability insurance, adoption assistance, backup childcare, tuition/CFA reimbursement, and paid time off (leave of absence, paid holidays, volunteer, sick and vacation).
  • Flexible work: 4 days a week in office, 1 day remote.
