PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The Director of Sales, Marketing & Events is a strategic commercial leader who drives total hotel revenue across rooms, group business, catering, and ancillary outlets. This role leads Sales, Marketing, Public Relations, and Events to achieving short- and long-term financial goals while strengthening Lotte’s position in the luxury market. Working closely with the General Manager and Revenue Management, the Director of Sales, Marketing & Events develops cross-functional strategies to optimize pricing, demand, and distribution, increase RevPAR, and expand market share.


SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE WILL BE MEASURED BY:

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management or related field preferred.

EXPERIENCE: At least five years of experience as a Director of Sales and Marketing in a luxury full-service hotel preferred.

  • Extensive experience in both group and transient segments, with established relationships across luxury leisure accounts, agencies, and key corporate travel managers
  • Proven success within luxury lifestyle or branded hotel environments (e.g., Leading Hotels of the World, Forbes-rated properties)
  • Demonstrated expertise across all facets of modern marketing, including digital strategy (CRM, email, SEO/SEM, retargeting) and brand storytelling
  • Strong understanding of distribution strategy, with the ability to optimize channel mix (direct vs. OTA) to maximize revenue and profitability
  • Experience collaborating with ownership groups and asset managers, with a clear understanding of financial expectations and reporting

  • Own the hotel’s topline revenue strategy across group, transient, and events, with a focus on sustained revenue growth and market share leadership.

  • Partner closely with Revenue Management to develop and execute pricing, inventory, and mix strategies informed by demand analysis and competitive intelligence.
  • Develop and implement group pricing and deployment strategies aligned with business mix objectives.

Lead Commercial Strategy & Forecasting Discipline

  • Chair weekly commercial strategy meetings integrating Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Management to align on performance, pace, and forward-looking actions.
  • Own forecasting accuracy, demand planning, and pace reporting; ensure budget alignment and proactive course correction.
  • Prepare, analyze, and present weekly, monthly, and annual performance reports, including participation in the annual business planning process.
  • Manage departmental financial performance, including budgets, forecasts, and expense approvals.

Elevate Brand Positioning & Marketing Impact

  • Define and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy that increases brand awareness, strengthens positioning, and drives direct revenue across rooms, dining, spa, and events.
  • Oversee digital and traditional marketing functions, including:
    • Website performance and conversion optimization
    • SEO/SEM strategy and paid media effectiveness

  • Leverage CRM and database marketing to drive targeted campaigns, repeat business, and guest lifetime value.

Own Event & Catering Strategy

  • Direct banquet and catering sales strategy to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
  • Ensure alignment between sales and operations to deliver high-margin events, not just volume-driven business.
  • Oversee accuracy and quality of Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and Group Resumes to ensure operational excellence and guest satisfaction.

Lead, Develop & Inspire High-Performing Teams

  • Provide strategic leadership to the Sales, Marketing, and Events teams, including recruitment, performance management, coaching, and succession planning.
  • Establish clear goals, accountability structures, and performance metrics aligned with hotel objectives.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and results-driven execution.

Market Intelligence & Industry Leadership

  • Maintain deep expertise in market dynamics, travel trends, and economic factors impacting demand.
  • Utilize industry tools and data sources (e.g., STR, Agency360, Amadeus/Delphi, Cvent, IDeaS) to inform strategy and identify opportunities.
  • Actively represent the Lotte in the marketplace through client engagement, industry events, and strategic travel.

Executive Collaboration & Stakeholder Alignment

  • Partner with the Executive Committee to develop and execute integrated sales, marketing, and business strategies.
  • Collaborate with corporate leadership to report on performance, align on brand initiatives, and drive key priorities.
  • Strengthen the hotel’s reputation within the local community and global luxury landscape.

Operational Oversight & Execution Excellence

  • Ensure effective management of sales activities, travel planning, and departmental resources.
  • Oversee CRM systems, reporting tools, and data integrity to support decision-making and performance tracking.
