Overview
Director of Sales Engineering (DSE) is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategy, execution, and performance of the technical sales (pre-sales) organization. Acting as the bridge between product development and sales revenue, they ensure technical teams effectively demonstrate product value to close complex B2B deals.
The ideal candidate has deep expertise in Salesforce release management and CI/CD pipelines, combined with experience scaling global Sales Engineering organizations. This role requires a strong point of view on secure, compliant DevOps practices-particularly for enterprise and regulated environments.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
  • Build and lead a world-class global Sales Engineering organization across multiple regions.
  • Define and execute the technical go-to-market strategy centered on Salesforce DevSecOps, CI/CD, and secure release management.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Product, and Customer Success to drive revenue growth and customer expansion.
  • Act as a key executive stakeholder in strategic deals and company-wide initiatives.

Technical Sales & Domain Leadership
  • Serve as a subject matter authority on Salesforce CI/CD, DevSecOps, and release governance.
  • Guide customers in modernizing their Salesforce delivery processes using:
    • Automated CI/CD pipelines
    • Version control and artifact management
    • Test automation and quality gates
    • Secure release orchestration
  • Lead technical strategy for complex enterprise deals, ensuring alignment with security, compliance, and audit requirements.

AutoRABIT Positioning & Security Focus
  • Evangelize the value of end-to-end Salesforce DevSecOps platforms, including:
    • Secure code scanning and vulnerability management
    • Compliance enforcement (SOX, HIPAA, GDPR, etc.)
    • Audit-ready release processes and traceability
    • Role-based access controls and data protection
  • Position solutions as critical infrastructure for organizations operating in highly regulated industries (finance, healthcare, public sector).
  • Partner with Product to influence roadmap around security-first DevOps innovation.

Customer & Market Engagement
  • Engage with CIOs, CISOs, and DevOps leaders to drive digital transformation initiatives.
  • Lead executive-level conversations around risk reduction, compliance, and secure software delivery.
  • Represent the company at industry events, thought leadership forums, and customer briefings.

Operational Excellence
  • Establish KPIs for team performance (win rates, technical close rates, deal velocity).
  • Build scalable frameworks for POCs, demos, and technical validation with a focus on security and compliance use cases.
  • Drive continuous enablement in Salesforce DevOps, CI/CD tooling, and security best practices.

Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years in Sales Engineering or Solutions Engineering within enterprise SaaS.
  • 5+ years leading global teams, including second-line leadership experience.
  • Deep expertise in Salesforce platform architecture and ecosystem.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Salesforce CI/CD and DevOps, including:
    • Git-based version control
    • Salesforce DX (SFDX)
    • Automated testing and deployment pipelines
  • Proven ability to sell and support complex enterprise solutions with security and compliance requirements.
  • Experience engaging with technical and executive stakeholders, including CIO/CISO-level.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Direct experience with AutoRABIT or similar Salesforce DevSecOps platforms (Copado, Gearset, etc.).
  • Background in DevSecOps, application security, or compliance-driven environments.
  • Experience selling into regulated industries (financial services, healthcare, government).
  • Familiarity with secure SDLC practices and governance frameworks.
