Job description:
We are seeking an RN Director of Nursing in Training! The ideal candidate is someone who is interested in learning more about nursing leadership in long term care facilities.
Responsibilities
  • Learning to manage and direct all aspects of the Nursing Services Department.
  • Communicates information to nursing personnel regarding new resident admissions and resident discharges and provides oversight of the admission and discharge process.
  • Reviews nursing personnel medical record documentation to ensure that it is appropriately and accurately descriptive of the nursing care provided.
  • Contributes to the development and maintenance of written nursing policies and procedures.
  • Provides written and oral reports/recommendations to the Director of Nursing and Administrator, as necessary/required, concerning the operation of the nursing services department.
  • Learns to prepare for and participates in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies.
  • Assists in the recruitment and selection of nursing staff.
  • Ensures that new nursing staff are properly oriented and trained.
  • Learns to develop nursing staff work assignments and schedules.
  • Learns to resolves complaint and grievances made by nursing department personnel.

Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a hospital, long-term care facility, or other related health care facility preferred.
