Reports To:

Executive Director of ACC Foundation/Executive Director of Development

Position Status:

Full-Time, Exempt, 12 months per year

Position Description:

This position is responsible for the growth of the alumni relations program at Alpena Community College. The program will focus on building and sustaining relationships between ACC and our alumni supporting student success, and growing charitable giving among alumni in support of ACC programs, facilities, and scholarships. Alumni relations includes regular communication through personal, print, and/or electronic methods, which will focus on alumni engagement and events. This position will utilize alumni management software to track all alumni.

Position Responsibilities:

  1. Working with the ACC Foundation Executive Director, this position will manage program-specific budgets and create strategies for sustainability and growth of the alumni program.
  2. Utilize donor/alumni database to track all alumni, transfer students, former staff and friends of the College.
  3. Assist the Executive Director in coordinating development activities for the College including all student groups, faculty, and staff fundraising efforts.
  4. Oversee and promote events, communication and programming for the alumni audience including direct mail, phoning, e-mail, social media, and promotional materials.
  5. Maintain the ACC website to advance the Foundation and Alumni Relations, along with social media engagement.
  6. In collaboration with Foundation staff, creates, edits, and distributes alumni newsletters in print and electronic formats.
  7. In collaboration with Foundation staff, develop and implement alumni donor cultivation and recognition/stewardship plans, including the annual Distinguished Graduate and Florence Nightingale awards.
  8. Develop and integrate an appreciation for and presence of alumni in the life of the College community.
  9. Engage current students through programming that will encourage them to become active and supportive alumni.
  10. In collaboration with Foundation staff, produced events to cultivate and steward alumni.
  11. Ensure that historical data and student life material is maintained and preserved.
  12. Presence on the job is an employee’s fundamental obligation. Regular, reliable, and punctual attendance is required.
  13. Perform other related tasks as assigned by supervisor.
