Job description

Who We Are

BOND is a rapidly growing private aviation company revolutionizing fractional aircraft ownership and private aircraft management, delivering an elevated and seamless flying experience for discerning clients. Supported by a landmark Bombardier fleet order, we are building a modern fleet of late-model super-midsize and ultra-long-range aircraft and assembling a team committed to operational excellence, safety, and white-glove service.

As we scale toward launch and long-term growth, we are seeking professionals who want to help build a next-generation aviation company and play a meaningful role in shaping how it operates from the ground up.

Role Overview

As Director of Safety, you'll own BOND's Safety Management System end to end, serving as our designated Safety Manager under Part 5 and reporting directly to the President with independent access to our Accountable Executive. You'll shape how we identify risk, learn from operational data, and build a safety culture that stays ahead of the operation instead of chasing it.

This role is for an experienced aviation safety leader who wants more than a compliance seat. You'll need the credibility to work with frontline crews and executives alike, the judgment to challenge assumptions when it matters, and the drive to keep building as we grow.

What You'll Do

  • Own and continuously improve BOND's Safety Management System (SMS) as our designated Safety Manager under 14 CFR Part 5.
  • Lead Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance, from hazard identification through corrective action closure.
  • Run BOND's Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP), protecting the confidentiality and non-punitive principles that make voluntary reporting work.
  • Drive innovation in how we use flight, maintenance, and safety data to catch emerging risk before it becomes an event.
  • Lead internal and external audits, including FAA, IS-BAO, ARGUS, and ACSF, and keep us audit-ready year-round.
  • Partner closely with Flight Operations, Maintenance, Training, and Compliance while preserving Safety's independence.
  • Report directly to the President and Accountable Executive on safety performance, trends, and emerging risk.

Required Qualifications

  • Significant aviation safety leadership experience in a complex flight operation (Part 135, 91K, 121, or comparable).
  • Strong working knowledge of 14 CFR Part 5 SMS, with hands-on experience implementing or administering an FAA-compliant program.
  • Demonstrated experience with Safety Risk Management, Safety Assurance, hazard identification, and corrective action processes.
  • Experience administering or materially supporting an FAA ASAP program.
  • Strong knowledge of aviation safety auditing standards, ideally including IS-BAO, ARGUS, and ACSF.
  • Experience leading Management of Change and formal safety risk assessments in a growing organization.
  • Exceptional judgment, integrity, and communication skills, with the independence to raise concerns when it counts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Director of Safety, Safety Manager, or equivalent senior safety leader.
  • Experience with FOQA/FDM, aircraft health monitoring, or other data-driven safety programs.
  • Experience supporting new aircraft types, operational approvals, or significant organizational change.
  • IS-BAO Stage II/III, ARGUS Platinum, or comparable third-party safety accreditation.

Why BOND

We're building a next-generation aviation company, and we invest in the people making it happen. Joining BOND means stepping into a fast-moving, high-standards environment where your work has a direct impact from day one.

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience
  • Performance-based bonus eligibility (role dependent)
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance with supplemental coverage options and company-paid life insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off and company holidays for eligible roles

If you're ready to help build something exceptional — we'd love to hear from you!

Equal Employment Opportunity

BOND is an equal opportunity employer and values a workplace where every team member is respected and supported. All employment decisions are made without regard to any status protected by applicable federal, state, or local law.
