Director of Business Technology

Full Time Bloomfield, NJ, US

The Director of Business Technology is a handsโ€‘on leader responsible for the firm's Microsoft 365 ecosystem, digital productivity platforms, AI adoption, and business collaboration tools. This role combines technical leadership with direct ownership of key Microsoft 365 and AI initiatives, requiring someone who is equally comfortable leading a team and delivering solutions personally.

This individual leads the Digital Solutions & Innovation team, which encompasses the Software Engineering team and Business Systems team while personally designing, implementing, and supporting strategic initiatives including SharePoint modernization, Microsoft Copilot adoption, workflow automation, and endโ€‘user enablement. The role partners across IT and business teams to improve employee productivity, govern collaboration platforms, and deliver a modern digital workplace.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the Digital Solutions team, including management of the Software Engineering Manager.
  • Establish team priorities and balance project work with ongoing operational support.
  • Own the Microsoft 365 productivity platform, including SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and related governance.
  • Personally lead and deliver enterprise initiatives such as SharePoint migration, Microsoft Copilot deployment, and Microsoft 365 modernization.
  • Create governance and structure around the Power Automate and Power BI platforms. Design, build, and maintain Power Automate workflows, Copilot Studio agents, and other productivity solutions, partnering with software engineers on more complex implementations.
  • Develop governance, standards, and best practices for Microsoft 365 collaboration tools.
  • Drive user adoption through training, communications, and change management programs.
  • Partner with IT, Design Technology, and Process Automation teams to ensure solutions align with security, governance, and business objectives.
  • Monitor platform usage and adoption metrics to guide future technology investments.
  • Support endโ€‘user adoption and training for Microsoft Dynamics during enterprise rollout.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience with Microsoft 365 platform administration, digital workplace technologies, or enterprise collaboration platforms.
  • Experience leading technical teams while remaining handsโ€‘on in technical delivery.
  • Strong knowledge of SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, Power Automate, Microsoft Copilot, and Microsoft 365 governance.
  • Experience leading enterprise platform implementations or modernization initiatives highly desired.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics highly desired.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Working understanding of the Microsoft cloud and AI ecosystem sufficient to plan rollouts, govern usage, and evaluate new capabilities.
  • Comfortable presenting to and managing the expectations of senior leadership.
