Job description

Position: Medical Director OB/GYN Hospitalist Program (MD/DO)
Location: Greater Houston Metropolitan Area, TX
Compensation: $49,000 Sign-On Bonus + $9,800 Relocation Support
Hourly Rate: $149/hour
Commitment: 3-Year Term

About the Role

We are actively seeking an experienced and board-certified OB/GYN physician with a proven track record of at least two years in a formal clinical leadership role within an OB/GYN hospitalist group setting. This opportunity is for a full-time Site Medical Director overseeing a dynamic team at a busy women's health facility in the Houston suburbs.

This position requires hands-on leadership, as well as clinical coverage. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced hospital environments and brings a strong sense of collaboration, communication, and accountability.

Scheduling Overview
  • Shift Format: 24-hour in-house shifts

  • Minimum: 6 shifts per month required

  • Scheduling Flexibility: Physicians can request up to 10 "blackout" days per month where they are unavailable

  • The remaining 20 21 calendar days are considered open for assignment. Shifts are typically scheduled in 3 4 day clusters with time off in between, depending on hospital needs and team balance.

Compensation & Incentives
  • Hourly Pay: $149/hour (fixed rate)

  • Sign-On Bonus: $49,000 with 3-year commitment

  • Relocation Support: Up to $9,800 for moving expenses

  • Holiday Pay: Additional $550 per shift (day or night) when working on major holidays including:

    • New Year's Eve (night)

    • New Year's Day

    • Memorial Day

    • Independence Day

    • Labor Day

    • Thanksgiving Day

    • Friday after Thanksgiving

    • Christmas Eve

    • Christmas Day

Benefits and Support
  • CME Allowance: $3,499 annually for full-time providers

  • Licensure/Certification Reimbursement:

    • State medical license, DEA registration, and board recertifications are covered

    • Additional dues or memberships may be reimbursed via internal education funds (BERA)

  • PTO/Sick/Holiday Time: Not included

  • Residency Requirement: Must reside in the Houston area (no travel-in models supported)

Required Qualifications
  • Medical Degree (MD or DO) with Board Certification in OB/GYN

  • Minimum 2 years of leadership experience overseeing OB/GYN hospitalist teams

  • Active Texas medical license or eligibility to obtain

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Comfortable with a full range of OB/GYN responsibilities including labor & delivery, emergency GYN, and in-hospital consults
