Job description

Title :- Network & Fiber Director

Basic Function:

The Director, Fiber & Network Architecture will be responsible for leading and directing network & fiber acquisition for SB Energy's GW-scale AI data center complexes across the U.S. The Network & Fiber Director will report to the Vice President of Development & Origination.

Responsibilities:

  • Acquire optimized fiber connectivity for SB Energy AI data centers, including via multiple redundant routes and to customer technical specifications
  • Own and drive relationships with fiber network carriers, securing favorable deals for SB Energy AI data centers.
  • Partner, negotiate, and contract with fiber network carriers to secure permits and right-of-ways, and issue LNTPs for construction works of fiber paths
  • Manage engagement with hyperscaler customers on network & fiber topics. Secure voice-of-customer input on network & fiber technical specifications and requirements, including redundancy, fiber count, and network connectivity
  • Understand fiber market developments, including key players, new technologies, and best practices.
  • Work collaboratively with other cross-functional teams including Development, Origination, Engineering, Transmission/Interconnection, Capital Markets, Projects and other support teams.
  • Support hyperscaler customer lease negotiation and AI data center project financing activities.
  • Develop and successfully deliver on project schedules and budgets.
  • Travel nationally up to 20%.
  • Build effective relationships with network carriers, customer networking teams, and other key stakeholders

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • A minimum of a Bachelors degree in related field.
  • 5 + years of experience in network & fiber for data centers, ideally at a hyperscaler.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, analytical and planning abilities, and good judgement.
  • The ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously.
  • Experience working with fiber & network carriers and with hyperscaler customer technology teams.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Strong sense of ownership over individual contributions and team success.

Travel Requirements

 Location: San Francisco / Bay Area, CA.

The position may require up to 20% domestic travel.

Base Pay-$190000-$220000

The pay range mentioned above is a guideline. We tailor each offer based on your unique skills, experience, location, and market benchmarks-while ensuring internal parity across our team. In addition to competitive base pay, total compensation may include a discretionary annual bonus and a market leading comprehensive health and wellness benefits package.
