Job Description:

The Senior Director of Business Development (SDBD) is a high-impact leadership role designed for a strategic sales leader ready to transition toward executive management. Reporting to the VP of Sales, you will oversee all territories across your division, providing a layer of strategic leadership above the Regional Directors of Business Development (RDBDs) while partnering with the VP to scale Ivy's sales function. Your focus will be on driving high-level referral growth, optimizing sales processes across broader territories, and fostering a disciplined, accountable culture. As a key member of the leadership team, you will work closely with Operations leaders to develop and implement creative sales strategies to keep up with Ivy's rapid growth.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Multi-Territory Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Regional Directors (RDBDs) to ensure consistent execution of referral growth goals across diverse markets.

  • Strategic Implementation: Partner with the VP of Sales to develop and implement creative sales strategies that align with Ivys rapid growth and multi-site expansion.

  • High-Level Coaching: Conduct strategic market visits and occasional ride-alongs with RDBDs and Business Development Managers (BDMs) to provide executive-level coaching and identify regional growth opportunities.

  • Data-Driven Accountability: Utilize a data-driven approach to hold regional teams accountable for KPI achievement and strategic implementation.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Marketing, Operations, Real Estate, Business Development, Compliance and senior leadership to align business development efforts with broader company profitability and care goals.

  • Referral Network Expansion: Lead strategies to expand the referring physician base and increase share within existing strategic partnership and key accounts.

  • Sales Operations Optimization: Help define and refine the "sales motion" between sales teammates, operations leaders, and clinicians to ensure role clarity and efficiency.

  • Performance Reporting: Provide regular, high-level updates to the leadership team, sharing insights on regional trends, competitor activity, and market dynamics.

  • M&A Partnership: Partner with M&A team to evaluate potential acquisitions and ensure a streamlined and thorough diligence process and supportive integration structure for sales strategies.

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare, or related field required

  • Experience: 8+ years of relevant professional sales leadership experience, with a proven track record in multi-site healthcare services setting.

  • Leadership Mastery: Demonstrated ability to lead leaders; experience managing a team of Managers or Directors highly preferred.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Goal driven people leader with a successful track record of collaborating across functions within all levels of an organization

  • Strategic Mindset: An analytical thinker capable of preparing and implementing complex action plans at both the detail and "big-picture" levels.
