Quantum-Systems Inc is a global leader in aerial intelligence and autonomous, AI-powered aerial robotics. We design, develop, manufacture and deliver eVTOL Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and an ecosystem of related products and services. Our business directly addresses the Defense and Security markets in North America, Asia Pacific and Latin America. We currently have an opening for a Software Engineer. This position reports to the Director of Mission Success.

As a Software Engineer at Quantum-Systems you will play a critical role in solving challenges within the dynamic and competitive government UAS industry. In this role, you will be a creative problem solver, tackling the multi-faceted problems facing our various platforms and delivering cutting edge technology transforming the battlespace. Candidates will exemplify their technical acumen to identify, create and advance new technologies aligned to our company's vision for UAS and Airborne Artificial Intelligence. From envisioning future warfighter needs to executing advanced platform technologies you will be at the forefront of Aerial Intelligence. This is an in office position.

A Software Engineer is responsible for the following:

  • Collaborate as part of the Quantum-Systems engineering team
  • Able to lead team of to deliver project milestones in a high tempo work environment
  • Minimal Supervision to implement high level software architectures
  • Resolve complex problems during troubleshooting using industry best practices
  • Integrate unmanned system technologies such as edge computed data fusion, vision AI, teaming and payload coordination
  • Lead technical software integration efforts
  • Decompose the scope of an assigned project, develop corresponding software architectures and software design
  • Develop and Execute Software Integration and Test Plans
  • Lead subsystem and low-level technical reviews
  • Position requires travel up to 10% of the time to support business needs
  • Embody, promote, and live the Quantum Systems core principles

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 3+ years of Embedded Software experience; OR PHD in a STEM discipline and 3+ years of Embedded Software experience
  • 3+ years Experience in Embedded Linux design
  • Capable of working both independently and in a team environment
  • Experience in Video and Data Communications across Ethernet
  • Demonstrated experience in embedded C++, C#
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Background Check/U.S. Citizenship required due to government contract requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of machine learning development
  • Demonstrated Experience in Windows WPF development
  • Embedded communication networks using UDP streams and sockets
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate and test complex systems including Datalinks, Control systems and vehicles
  • Success in a startup environment demonstrating adaptability
  • Experience with Unmanned Aircraft development experience a plus
  • Ability to prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish desired results
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and/or accomplishing them simultaneously
  • Ability to comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop solutions
