About Tread

Tread Athletics is one of the leading pitching development programs in baseball. Since 2015, we have helped thousands of athletes, from high school to MLB, and built a combined following of over one million. Our mission is to provide the information and resources to help baseball players reach their athletic potential. We sit on one of the largest combined pools of baseball coaching expertise in the country, with a proprietary dataset spanning thousands of athletes, and a coaching staff whose insights are shaping how the entire industry thinks about player development. Our content translates that depth into actionable education for everyone, from high school parents to seasoned MLB veterans.

MEDIA TEAM VISION

We are building a media team that is as obsessed with sharing player development education as the coaches and athletes we serve. The content we produce and the brand trust we have built is what drives clients to train with us. We are scaling a media machine built on trust and value, not dollars and ad spend.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Head of Media at Tread is the architect of our current media, brand and content ecosystem. You are responsible for turning the brand, personalities, athlete results and coaching expertise into the most trusted and authoritative pitching education platform in the world.

The Head of Media’s job is to:

  • Scale Tread’s educational content, making it the definitive resource in pitching development worldwide
  • Lead the media team, set creative direction, and create content & resources that drive organic demand for Tread’s coaching services
  • Protect Tread’s brand messaging and positioning so every touchpoint reflects Tread’s credibility, expertise, and commitment to providing value to our audience
  • Build innovative systems, automated workflows, and team infrastructure to create a media machine that can sustainably produce world‑class content at scale

This role is not boxed in. We welcome new ideas that can further the brand and mission of helping the next generation of pitchers reach their potential.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU

Responsibilities - Brand & Content

  • Set and execute the media strategy, translating organic content into lead conversion
  • Scale Tread’s brand across YouTube, Instagram, X, TikTok, Podcasts and other platforms
  • Own consistent brand positioning across all channels and touchpoints
  • Oversee production of marketing funnels, lead magnets, email sequences, and conversion-focused content. Collaborate with sales, ops and performance teams to bring these to life
  • Optimize content workflows across socials and formats
  • Lead ideation and execution of content campaigns/initiatives that support company goals
  • Own the content pipeline: ideate, greenlight, and develop video concepts. Know what resonates with our audience and why
  • End-to-end oversight of the entire content machine - assist team with creative production, sit in on shoots, review rough cuts, and optimize titles, hooks, thumbnails and copy. Must be willing to get your hands dirty

Responsibilities - People & Infrastructure

  • Implement SOPs, reporting, and systems that scale. Use AI tools to improve production workflows
  • Lead and develop the content/media team day to day: one-on-ones, hiring, performance management, quarterly goals, career development
  • Monitor analytics and attribution to inform strategy, not guess at it. Collaborate with the operations team that handles this underlying infrastructure
  • Collaborate with sales, operations, and product teams to improve brand positioning and inform strategy

Requirements

  • 5+ years in content/media leadership roles
  • Proven experience building and leading teams of 5-10+ across creative and operations
  • College baseball playing experience or an equivalent depth of familiarity with Tread and the pitching development space
  • Deep platform fluency, especially YouTube, and including IG, X, Facebook, TikTok
  • Experience scaling personal and business brands
  • Proficiency in email marketing, funnel systems, and lead generation workflows
  • Comfortable hiring, firing, giving direct feedback, and holding people accountable
  • Willing to be both hands‑on and strategic
  • Proficient with AI tools for content production and workflow improvement

What Success Looks Like

  • Tread is recognized as the definitive source of pitching education content across platforms
  • Inbound lead volume and quality improve year over year as a natural result of consistent, high-value content
  • The team is functioning, developing, and scaling without bottlenecks or single points of failure
  • Creative output increases in volume and effectiveness without proportional increases in headcount
  • Attribution and reporting are clean and actionable
  • You effectively translate company‑level goals into quarterly plans that you are able to fully execute and own at the department level, while reporting outcomes and blockers to leadership on a consistent monthly cadence
COMPENSATION
  • $100k-$140K base salary plus a performance bonus structure tied to outcomes
  • OTE of $125k-$185K+ for a strong performer
  • This is not a fixed‑ceiling position. As the marketing function matures, the budget grows, and the team scales, compensation scales with it. Your upside is directly tied to what you build
  • Final salary will be based on several factors, including relevant prior experience, skills, and expertise
  • Full structure discussed on interview. The value of our benefits package is not included in this base, and is in addition to the final figure
BENEFITS

Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance and 401(k) with employer matching. Relocation bonus available.

WHAT WE STAND FOR

Athlete First

Every decision we make, in content, in coaching, in operations, in how we communicate, starts with what is actually best for the athlete. We don't take shortcuts that compromise that. Long‑term trust matters more than short‑term outcomes.

Problem‑Solvers

We don't wait for perfect information. We assess, adapt, and find a way forward for athletes and for ourselves. That applies to how we coach, how we build, and how we operate.

Relentless

We don't quit on athletes, and we don't quit on ourselves. That standard applies in our content, on the phone, in the gym, and everywhere in between.
