Clinician - Full-Time (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Certified Nurse Midwife)
REPORTS TO: Practice Manager | Lead Clinician
STATUS: Exempt/Salaried | Full-Time (Occasional travel throughout footprint to our clinics in Knoxville, Memphis, and Nashville required)

YOUR IMPACT
As a Clinician at PPTNM, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional, patient-centered care. You will provide clinical services in accordance with Planned Parenthood Federation of America guidelines and state regulations. From patient assessments to contraceptive counseling and preventive care, you will help patients make informed choices about their reproductive health.
You will also be a key part of our dynamic healthcare team, supporting clinical staff, and ensuring outstanding patient experiences. Whether you are an experienced provider or just starting your career in reproductive healthcare, this role offers the opportunity to grow your skills in a mission-driven environment.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Comprehensive Patient Care:
  • Conduct thorough health assessments, including obstetric, gynecologic, contraceptive, medical, surgical, and psychosocial histories.
  • Perform physical exams with a focus on reproductive health, including breast and pelvic exams, cancer screenings, and STI diagnosis.
  • Provide counseling and education on contraception, fertility, sexual health, and overall wellness.
  • Conduct and interpret diagnostic studies, lab tests, and ultrasounds per medical guidelines.
  • Deliver patient-centered care and provide follow-up as needed, seeing an established patient visit goal/productivity expectations, seeing approximately (30-35) patients per day with a combination of scheduled appointments (10-15 minute increments) and walk-ins.
  • Ensure patient care aligns with medical standards and guidelines (MSGs), and protocols as outlined by the affiliate to meet accreditation standards.
  • Respond to after-hours patient calls as part of the on-call team.
  • Clinicians will see anywhere from 25-35 patients per day with a mix of scheduled appointments and walk-ins.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Clinical Excellence, Quality Risk Management & Leadership:
  • Serve as a leader in ensuring efficient, high-quality patient care.
  • Mentor and lead by example, healthcare assistants during clinical procedures.
  • Participate in training, protocol updates, and implementation of new clinical programs.
  • Work closely with the Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) Lead Clinician (LC) and Medical Director (MD) to continuously enhance services and patient outcomes.
  • Support efforts to maintain high patient retention, appointment adherence, and efficient clinic flow.
  • Participate in quality risk management (QRM) ensuring patient care aligns with Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA), and local affiliate standards.
Team Collaboration & Advocacy:
  • Collaborate with community organizations and healthcare agencies to connect patients with additional resources.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to maintaining a high standard of care.
  • Demonstrate a positive, problem-solving attitude while upholding PPTNM's mission and values.
  • Assist in surgical clinic support roles when needed.
WHAT YOU BRING
Education & Certification:
  • Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) or equivalent education in Physician Assistant or Nurse Midwifery programs.
  • Minimum of three years experience as a Nurse Practitioner, Physician assistant or Nurse Midwife preferred.
  • Active and unrestricted Tennessee Nursing License.
  • National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Certified Nurse Midwife.
  • CPR Certification; BLS. ACLS certification preferred.
  • DEA Licensure required.
Experience & Skills:
  • Alignment with the mission, vision and values of Planned Parenthood.
  • Previous experience as a Nurse Practitioner or related role is preferred but not required.
  • Passion for reproductive healthcare and commitment to providing nonjudgmental, inclusive care.
  • Knowledge of medical documentation and language.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Can multi-task, problem solve and function as a leader.
  • Adhere to affiliate goals and policies on professionalism, wait time in-clinic and on the phone, and the system for addressing client complaints.
  • Participate in health center/affiliate efforts to achieve established revenue cycle goals.

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
