Microsoft Security is seeking a Director, Product Marketing, Security for AI to lead Security for AI strategy, positioning, go-to-market execution, and team leadership. This role sits at the forefront of Microsoft's AI platform strategy and is responsible for helping define the security strategy to support how customers observe, govern, and secure AI agents at scale - across users, agents, and AI platforms. The successful candidate loves shaping product and business strategy, crafting compelling product stories, driving major launch moments, accelerating customer success, and coaching teams to drive business value through career growth-and having fun along the way. As a people manager, you will lead and develop an impact-driven team of product marketers, fostering a culture of customer obsession, strategic thinking, accountability, inclusion, and continuous growth. You love coaching team members to grow their marketing craft, expand influence across engineering and field organizations, and deliver impact through collaborative leadership. The role entails balancing strategic leadership, organizational influence, and talent development while operating effectively in a highly matrixed environment.

Responsibilities
Product Marketing Strategy and Category Leadership
  • Define and execute the product marketing strategy for priority areas across Security for AI, including security value for Agent 365.
  • Shape market positioning, customer narratives, and go-to-market strategies across Microsoft Security for AI portfolio.
  • Drive clarity around customer scenarios, adoption motions, and revenue opportunities.
  • Influence product direction using market, customer, analyst, competitive, and field insights.
  • Partner with engineering, business planning, and leadership teams to influence packaging, licensing, pricing, monetization, and business model strategies.
  • Provide executive recommendations based on customer feedback, market trends, and field signals.

Launch and Go-to-Market Leadership
  • Lead launch strategy and execution for major product announcements, roadmap milestones, and marketing moments.
  • Represent Microsoft's Security for AI strategy in executive customer engagements, analyst briefings, field events, and industry forums.
  • Deliver core marketing assets, customer stories, demos, and field/partner enablement content as needed.
  • Translate customer feedback into actionable product and marketing recommendations.
  • Partner with worldwide field and solution specialists to accelerate adoption and remove customer and seller blockers.

Cross-Functional Leadership and Influence
  • Lead strategic initiatives across Entra, Defender, Purview, Intune, Windows, Foundry, Copilots, and Copilot Studio teams.
  • Drive clarity & alignment among diverse stakeholders from across Microsoft business groups and build consensus across competing priorities.
  • Develop integrated narratives and customer experiences that connect Microsoft's AI and Security investments into a unified story.

Leadership and Team Development
  • Embody and demonstrate Microsoft leadership principles (clarity, energy, success) and manager principles (model, coach, care).
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Product Marketing Managers, helping them grow strategically, operationally, and as leaders and helping realize our Frontier Marketing ambitions.
  • Create an inclusive, impact-driven culture that encourages innovation, accountability, and collaboration.
  • Establish clear priorities, role clarity, and development plans that enable team members to grow their talents and scale their impact.
  • Coach Product Marketing Managers (PMMs) on product marketing fundamentals, customer-centric storytelling, go-to-market (GTM) strategy, launch excellence, executive communications, and cross-functional influence.
  • Drive organizational health through talent development and career growth discussions.
  • Foster deep partnerships across product, engineering, field, and marketing organizations while helping team members expand their networks and influence.

Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 4+ years experience in product marketing
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 6+ years experience in product marketing
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years people management experience or indirect people management experience (or virtual teams)

Additional or preferred qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 8+ years experience in product marketing
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 12+ years experience in product marketing
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years people management experience.
  • 3+ years' experience of product marketing / product management experience within the cybersecurity or AI space.
  • 5+ years' experience in core product marketing discipline within technology.
  • Experience leading and scaling teams in high-growth or emerging technology categories.
  • Experience using data to build and present business cases to key stakeholders.

Product Marketing M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $251,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $272,300 per year.
