The Role

The Director/VP of Security is responsible for establishing and overseeing the organization’s information security strategy, ensuring the protection of data, systems, and assets. This executive role will lead the security team, manage risks, implement cutting-edge security technologies, and foster a security-first culture across the organization. The Director/VP of Security will align security initiatives with the company’s business goals while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. What You Will Do
  • Security Strategy and Leadership:

    • Engage with AVS developers at various stages of the development lifecycle to understand their pain points and address them with engineering solutions.

    • Help in creating target output metrics for your team and manage the inputs to achieve them.

  • Risk Management:

    • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and implement mitigation strategies.

    • Oversee cybersecurity policies, procedures, and incident response plans to minimize operational disruptions.

  • Incident Response and Crisis Management:

    • Lead the organization’s response to security incidents, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to address and remediate breaches.

    • Ensure business continuity through disaster recovery and crisis management planning.

  • Compliance and Regulatory Requirements:

    • Ensure the organization complies with all relevant security regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, ISO 27001).

    • Collaborate with legal, compliance, and risk management teams to align security policies with regulatory requirements.

What You Will Bring
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in information security, cybersecurity, computer science, or related field (Master’s preferred). Equivalent experience is also considered in lieu of degree.

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in information security, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, such as CISO, Security Director, or equivalent.

  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or Certified Information Security Manager.

  • Skills:

    • Proven ability to develop and implement large-scale security strategies.

    • Expertise in risk management, incident response, and security governance.

    • Strong leadership and communication skills to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

    • Experience with blockchain/web3 applications and protocols.

    • In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and regulatory standards (e.g., NIST, ISO, GDPR).

The target base salary for this role will range between $250,000 to $350,000. This is determined by a few factors including your skillset, prior relevant experience, quality of interviews and market factors at the point in time of offer.
