EquipNethelps the largest manufacturers in the world to buy, sell, and manage their surplus capital equipment.

We're seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer with 5+ years of hands-on expertise servicing SCIEX and Waters mass spec systems, including TOF instrumentation, to provide remote and on-site support to biotech, pharma, chemical, and environmental labs across the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver expert remote and on-site technical support for LC-MS and GC-MS instrumentation, with a primary focus on SCIEX and Waters mass spec and TOF systems, ensuring maximum performance and uptime.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and application-related issues across mass spec platforms, including SCIEX and Waters.

  • Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and calibrations on SCIEX and Waters instrumentation to meet manufacturer specifications and regulatory standards.

  • Lead installation, qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ), and validation of new LC-MS, GC-MS, and TOF systems.

  • Optimize instrument performance through advanced tuning, method troubleshooting, and workflow improvements on SCIEX and Waters platforms.

  • Provide technical training and guidance to laboratory personnel on instrument operation, maintenance, and best practices.

  • Maintain accurate service logs, compliance records, and documentation of all service activities.

  • Serve as a brand ambassador, representing EquipNet's technical expertise and commitment to client success.

  • Partner with engineering, customer service, and technical support teams to expedite resolution of complex, high-stakes issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 5+ years of hands-on field service experience with SCIEX and Waters mass spectrometry systems, including TOF instrumentation, required.

  • Advanced expertise in LC-MS and GC-MS systems: hardware troubleshooting, maintenance, and software configuration.

  • Proven ability to diagnose complex failures independently and implement effective solutions quickly, often under time pressure in live lab environments.

  • Strong familiarity with chromatography data systems (CDS) and mass spectrometry software, particularly SCIEX and Waters platforms (e.g., Analyst, Mass Lynx).

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills with a focus on compliance, accuracy, and documentation.

  • Ability to work independently in client environments while maintaining a professional, service-oriented approach.

  • Must be local to Cerritos, CA.

Experience & Education
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Analytical Chemistry, Engineering, Instrumentation, Biomedical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).

  • 5+ years of experience servicing SCIEX and Waters mass spec/TOF instrumentation in biotech, pharma, chemical, or environmental industries.

  • Knowledge of regulatory standards (GLP/GMP, ISO, FDA) is a plus.

  • Proficiency with PC operating systems (Windows) and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 25% overnight.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary Range: $85,000 - $115,000 plus bonus/variable component.

  • Comprehensive health and dental insurance

  • 401(k) plan with year-end employer contribution

  • Paid time off and holidays

  • Professional development opportunities, including training and certifications

  • Supportive, collaborative work environment with opportunities for advancement
