Philadelphia Magazine — a print magazine and digital content legacy media brand — is the premier guide to how to take advantage of all the city and region offers, from its culture, its food, its eds and meds, its environs, its people, its must-read stories, and its storied sports teams.
Position Overview
The National Account Director is a strong, motivated, and creative seller. This person will be responsible for selling integrated media programs and advertising solutions across print, digital, social, mobile and experiential platforms. Titles and channels include Philadelphia magazine, Be Well Philly, Philadelphia Wedding, phillymag.com, The Philadelphia Citizen and more. We are seeking an eager Account Director who can focus strategically on a range of categories in the Philadelphia DMA. In this role, you will focus on selling new business while concurrently renewing and expanding your existing client base in a fast-paced upbeat environment with room to grow professionally. This position reports to and is evaluated by the CMG Publisher.
Qualifications
Required:
  • 3+ years experience in outside advertising/media sales
  • Successful experience selling to professionals: physicians, dentists, practice managers, senior marketing managers, or other professionals
  • Excellent presentation and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated individual who can ramp up quickly and uncover new prospects
  • Great at setting up face-to-face sales meetings
  • Ability to think creatively to deliver on client goals
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with grace under pressure
  • Demonstrated ability to build positive and collaborative relationships
Preferred:
  • Knowledge of digital communications, platforms and sales strategy is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree
Responsibilities
  • Key to the position is driving revenue across all platforms (print, digital, social, mobile and event sponsorship) for the brand
  • Set up high volume sales calls each week with clients and agencies to develop and present new revenue opportunities.
  • Initiate and develop integrated programs and sponsorship packages for current clients and new prospects
  • Work collaboratively with marketing to develop creative integrated proposals designed to achieve client goals and bring in revenue.
  • Build and maintain strong client and agency relationships at all levels, attend networking events and trade shows related to assigned categories
  • Use various sales aides, presentations, research, marketing and all resources to help effectively deliver sales message to clients
  • Provide accurate and timely business estimates, forecasts, paperwork/administration
  • Generate ideas for new initiatives and new categories of business
  • Work directly with the Publisher to develop custom programs for existing and new clients
  • Maintain CRM database
  • Additional duties as assigned
