Within MVPH, the Health IT team operates asan above-brand, customer-facing function that uses approved materialstohelp health systems identify, evaluate, and expand the capabilities of theirexistingEHRtools to close gaps in patient care. This position offers a unique andhighly visible opportunity to lead that work and help shape Amgen's evolving Health IT strategy.

The Associate Director - Health ITTeamLead plays a pivotal role in leading a team of Health IT Liaisons and executing Amgen's Health IT strategy. This position ensuresthatthe team operates in alignment with corporate objectives and contributes to improved patient outcomes.

This role is both strategic and operational, serving as a coachand people leaderwho manages and develops the Health IT Liaison team. The Associate Director will drive adoption of Amgen's Health IT initiatives, oversee execution of account plans, and ensure compliance with allapplicablestandards.

The position requiresdeep EHRtechnicalexpertise andstrong leadershipwitha focus on building team capabilities. The Associate Director will evaluate performance, provide feedback, recognize high achievement, and identify training needs in partnership with training teams.The individualwill also lead the team through organizational and technological changes, ensuring adaptability and resilience in a dynamic environment.

The Associate Director will collaborate closely with Medical Value and Access, Medical Science Liaisons, andothercross-functional partners to integrate population health strategies and value-based initiatives. This includes supportinghealthcareorganizations focused on quality improvement, care management, and patient engagement to drive meaningful impact on health outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Health IT Liaison team to ensure effective execution of account plans, adherence to compliance standards, and continuous improvement.

  • Evaluate performance, provide constructive feedback, recognize achievement, and identify training needs; partner with training teams to design and deliver programs.

  • Lead national training initiatives, including new hire onboarding and ongoing team learning programs

  • Support the Health IT Liaison strategy, messaging, tools, & field teams' training for EHR initiatives supporting CV and Bone therapeutic areas,with the expansion effortswithin theOncology, Inflammation, and Rare Disease

  • Work with third-party vendors to facilitate the internal legal, regulatory and medical review of marketing materials via the Materials Approval and Compliance (MAC)

  • Standardize, deploy, and executethe Health IT strategyin collaboration with the Director.

  • Lead account planning and managementeffortsforpriorityIDNandPayeraccounts.

  • Manage the customer accounts prioritization process for the Health IT Liaisons

  • Collaboratewith cross-functional medical and commercial account teams to gather customer insightsto inform internal strategy.

  • Partner with Medical and IDN Strategy Team leads and other cross-functional partners toalign initiatives andassess national opportunities.

  • Confidently engage customers using appropriate methods and MAC approved materials/messaging

  • Ensureeffective use of CRM toolsto manageschedules, track activities, and document customer interactions.

  • Contribute tocross-functional workstreamsthat advancebusiness initiatives as requested

  • Evolve future Health IT Liaison strategic and executional plansin alignment withmedical and brand strategic plans

  • Provideinputon targeting strategies, Key Performance Indicators(KPIs), andPlans of Action (POAs)

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree OR

Master's degree and4years of experience in Health IT life science role.

OR

Bachelor's degree and6years of experience in Health IT life science role.

Associate's degree and12years of experience in Health IT life science role. OR

High school diploma / GED and 14years of experience in Health IT life science role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in informatics

  • Strongbusiness acumen, analytical skills, and critical thinking ability

  • Experience in pharmaceutical/biotech industry

  • Strongunderstanding of IDNs and key partners

  • Deep understandingof EHR systems within IDNs

  • Experiencein population health management and implementation science

  • Experience successfully managing and motivating direct reports

  • Ability to effectively manage complexaccountsand cross functional relationships

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is $212,000.00 to $260,000.00. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
