Job Description: 

The SRII Logistics Lead for the Sky Raider II program will oversee and manage all logistics personnel and operations at Davis-Monthan AFB. Reporting to the Site Manager and coordinating directly with the Program Material Manager, the Logistics Lead is responsible for providing logistical support to both internal and external customers, assuring the correct spares, materials, tools, and equipment arrive at the appropriate time and place, in the right quantities, in order to support the OA-1K Sky Raider II maintenance production process. This role performs and monitors management of manual or automated inventory control actions, reviews maintenance production schedules, and maintains established policies and procedures pertaining to inventory control, transportation, and warehouse functions. The Logistics Lead provides direct supervision to all on-site logisticians and demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease cycle time, and streamline work processes to provide quality seamless customer service.


Essential Functions:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
  • Provide direct supervision and leadership to all logistics personnel at Davis-Monthan AFB.
  • Report to the Site Manager on logistics operations, performance metrics, and supply chain status.
  • Coordinate directly with the Program Material Manager on material requirements, procurement, and inventory management.
  • Review maintenance production schedules and related information and confer with supervision to determine materials, tools, equipment, and supplies required to support OA-1K aircraft maintenance, flight operations, and facilities.
  • Determine logistical support sequences, lead times, transportation requirements, stock levels, and implement support plans for the maintenance production schedule.
  • Maintain an efficient and effective supply system; assure that all supplies, tools, and equipment are on-hand to support the production process in a timely manner.
  • Perform inventory cycle counts and audits as required.
  • Compute and accumulate data for use in analysis and prepare, analyze, and evaluate reports, procedures, and policy data.
  • Responsible for training new hires and identifying training needs for current employees.
  • Coordinate training schedules with Site Manager and Program Management Office (PMO) based on identified needs.
  • Provide site-specific training including: tracking and scheduling intersite MilAir shipments, building up 463L pallets to meet Mobility Air Command standards, forklift certification, etc.
  • Maintain compliance with company and government Communications Security (COMSEC) policies and procedures.
  • Control issue, storage, and shipment of classified sensitive items.
  • Ensure compliance with ITAR and IATA/49CFR regulations for shipment of materials, parts, tools, and supplies.
  • Maintain and observe procedures for the control and turn-in of serviceable and unserviceable, recoverable and repairable parts, materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Prepare, record, and report applicable documents pertaining to the procurement, acquisition, issue, turn-in, and disposal of government parts, materials, supplies, tools, and equipment.
  • Receive, store, and issue tools, machine tool fixtures, and measuring devices.
  • Inspect, audit, and ensure that measuring devices are calibrated.
  • Maintain records of tools issued to employees; report damaged, worn out, or missing tools and equipment.
  • Dispose of surplus or obsolete tools in accordance with established procedure.
  • Support weekly meetings with PMO and any other meetings as required by Site Manager/PMO.
  • Track location and individual specific metrics for use in performance evaluation.
  • Run reports and review each logistician's work performed and direct accordingly.
  • Work hand in hand with the Site Manager to ensure that logistical concerns are addressed optimally.
  • Maintain work schedule and communicate any changes to the proper channels.
  • Assign job specific tasks to each logistician at the start of each shift.
  • Ensure timely correction of inventory discrepancies.
  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease cycle time, and streamline work processes.
  • Work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
  • Additional duties may be required as directed by Management.
  • Willingness and ability to work shifts as assigned and travel as part of a maintenance recovery team if required.
  • Willingness and ability to work temporarily in OCONUS locations under hazardous and hardship living conditions, working shift schedules as assigned, 7 days a week, 12 hours a day to support mission requirements.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Passport for OCONUS travel, as needed.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum 6 years prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years management experience required.
  • Minimum 6 months experience in Military or commercial supply and logistical systems/plans.
  • Must meet all physical requirements associated with deployment OCONUS and CRC.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.


Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Active Secret security clearance.
  • Military and/or aviation supply support experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of SAP desired.
  • Previous experience as a logistics lead or supervisor for aircraft maintenance operations.
  • Experience with military contract operations and customer interface.
  • Familiarity with Air Tractor 802 / OA-1K aircraft logistics requirements.
  • Excellent managerial skills to manage and mentor a diverse team of logisticians.
  • Excellent communicative (written and oral) and interpersonal skills and proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers and other key staff.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
